REPORTS TO: Asia Finance Director


SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position is responsible for the management and protection of the company's accounts receivable assets through prudent credit decisions, current collection follow-up customers, third-party involvement, and the enforcement of credit collection policies in the field, resulting in maximizing company sales and profits.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Supervise the credit office functions and staff.
Establish credit lines beyond subordinate levels of authority.
Country visits to review, train and solve problems in accounts receivable management.
Train and develop the knowledge and expertise of credit personnel in management of accounts receivable.
Communicate with Division Management regarding credit performance and marginal account activity.
Customer visits to solve problems and help sales.


ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
? Manage expenses to budget.
Reporting variances of credit policies and procedures to management.
Monitoring performance and effectiveness of third-party agencies.
Interview candidates for positions within the credit office.
Develop and maintain an open communication with other paint manufacturer's accounts receivable department.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Approximately 50% of the time will be spent in travel, including air travel and overnight stays. The remaining 50% will be spent sitting; 70% of that time will be spent on the telephone, 40% will be spent using a personal computer and 5 - 10% will be spend stooping, i.e., filing. Some light lifting is required (25 to 50 lbs.).


TECHNICAL, MANAGERIAL OR OTHER PROBLEMS:
? Promoting charge sales growth and profitability while maintaining the integrity of the accounts receivable portfolio and achieving acceptable levels of delinquency and bad debt.
Responsible for training and development of all Asia Country Credit Managers.


DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:
This position can approve:
Credit limits up to $125,000.
Credit/debit entries to a customer's account up to $1,000.
Placement of accounts with third-party agencies.
Add-on sales to delinquent/overlimit accounts up to their approval authority level.
Bankruptcy proofs of claim up to approved limit not to exceed $100,000.


CONTACTS INSIDE/OUTSIDE ORGANIZATION:
Internal: Group, Division
External: Customers, Collection Agencies and Attorneys, Credit Reporting Agencies, Vendors and Suppliers, Trade Groups


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
? Development of profitable sales through judicious and timely credit extension.
Enhance Division cash flow through timely and effective follow up of store collection activity and direct customer contact.
Maintain open sales channels by directing and participating in diplomatic and professional customer contacts with delinquent/problem accounts.
Maintain open sales channels for existing accounts by coordinating and ensuring collection follow-up procedures are implemented.
Actively participate in controlling and limiting potential and bad debt losses.
Education of credit personnel in accounts receivable management functions.
Development and maintenance of credit file information to substantiate extension of credit.
Effective daily operation of the Asia Credit Office.
Manage Credit Office within established budget.
