Sourcing Manager (Medical device)
Location: Shanghai, China
Introduction:
- Leading company offers a comprehensive array of diagnostic products, Its products are sold globally through direct sales forces and through distribution agreements. The headquarter is located in Shanghai, they are seeking talented specialists to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
-Strategically sourcing of capital equipment and functional materials by interacting with LCS and global sourcing team to drive cost reduction
-Supporting Front-End-Loading (FEL) process by providing procurement support on new proposals and business development opportunities.
-Leading overall project procurement as focal point to manage project procurement cost and schedule within budget.
-Planning, organizing and leading supplier qualification and integrating qualified suppliers during project execution to reduce project cost.
-Measure and manage supplier performance and develop high performing low-Cost-Sourcing (LCS) supplier for global use involving negotiating global supply agreement with China suppliers.
-Leading day to day transactional procurement operation including formation and administration of purchase orders /contracts through the steps of bidder prequalification, compilation of bid requests, receipt of bids, evaluation, negotiation and award in accordance with established policies and procedures.
-Negotiating contract and mitigating risk. Coordinating supplier corrective actions. Managing claim and back charge in accordance with NCR process.
-Leading, motivating and further developing the team by superior leadership skills. Build a wining and high performing equipment procurement team with strong operational skills, integrity and disciplines.
-Attendance & Active Participation:
-Global Sourcing Teleconferences
-Project FEL2 Kickoff + Cost & Risk + Leadership review.
-Commodity Skill Networking Meeting (Global and/or in-country).
-Bimestrial meeting with key suppliers to understand market dynamics and review outstanding Praxair proposals.
Key Capabilities
-Education & Career Background:
-Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, automation or management engineering,
-10+ years of capital procurement experience with 5 years of managerial experience,
-Experience in interacting with international colleagues
-Engineering background and projects experience is preferred.
-Skills & Personal Attributes:
-Fluent in Mandarin and English
-Proficient with PC software.
-Self-motivator with ability to work independently.
-Creative and solution orientated approach to issues resolution, responsive.
-Strong internal and external relationship building skills.
-Good business judgment and risk management skills.
