Manufacturing Design Engineer for Magnet

  

Key Qualifications

  

§   Typically requires 3+ years of experience in technical product manufacturing machining experience such as slicing/grinding/wire-saw/glue dispenser/assembly development tuning; if has knowledge on magnet will be prefer

  

§   Proven track record of project management, yield attack, cost reduction and engineering design

  

§   Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T)

  

§   Good oral and written communication skills, be open and willing to travel to our manufacturing facility up to 100%

  

§   Support all development builds for assigned programs/parts

  

 

  

Description

  

§   To provide necessary support to design, develop and qualify high precision magnet piece part and assemble part. Have the capacity to assist in the manufacturability of a world-class device from new product introduction through mass production ramp. 

  

§   Provide technical support or guidance on magnets piece part(material, sintering) assembly related FA and yield improvement activities. 

  

§   Help the team to contribute on a wide range of manufacturability concepts, processes and materials during the design phase to define and eliminate manufacturing risks and assist the team to ensure the manufacturability of next generation devices.

  

§   Provide help in detailed assessments and critical design for manufacture reviews of engineering designs/drawings of components and assemblies. 

  

§   Provide assistance to identify and highlight manufacturability issues during engineering builds to ensure that established product quality and yield levels are met at the start of production.

  

§   You will also help to contribute in areas such as process planning, line balancing, plating and fixture design/assembly 

  

Education: BS or MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science.

  

Additional Requirements: 

  

§   Experience with heavy equipment development such as slicing, grinding, wire-saw, doubles-side lapping, glue dispenser , process setup, optimization a plus.

  

§   New product introduction, magnetic design and/or Manufacturing Operations experience. Design for Manufacturability, Failure/Data Analysis, Design of Experiments and statistical analysis using Six Sigma principles.

  

§   A strong plus would be previous experience and knowledge of magnetic measurement equipment as they relate to flux density, magnetic moment, and their use for positioning and critical alignment within fixtures.

  

§   NX, Solidworks or ProE CAD experience a plus. JMP, Minitab& Six Sigma experience a plus.
