Key Responsibilities：

• Responsible for evaluation of existing and new technologies in the personal care product range to support BU strategies. 

• Experimentation on the bench with conventional and/or non-conventional/creative approaches that will lead to unique product claims and benefits  (with new formula bases, raw ingredients and processing techniques)

• Evaluation of sensory, stability, and efficacy performance of materials

• Participate in external collaborations.

• Organizes and analyzes clinical data

• Publish findings in trade journals and at trade shows as appropriate

• Prepare detailed technical assessments and reports for documentation and communication of key developments and discoveries.

• Provide technical support and training to sales, distributors and customers.

• Attend and participate at appropriate national/international meetings and trade shows.

• Evaluation of product features in-vitro and in-vivo.

• Presentation of results and products internal as well as external.

• Calibration and upkeep of all laboratory instruments.

• Maintenance of neat and accurate laboratory notebooks and data logs.

Hard requirements:

• Degree in Applied Sciences (Chemistry, Life Sciences Technologies) with a minimum of 5 years experience in an applications lab.

• Emphasis on studies related to Cosmetics or Personal Care preferred.

Soft requirements:

Planning of work and how it is generated  (How is work assigned?…self generated, given by boss.  Approval level?)

Work is assigned by Applied Research Manager and Global applications director.  Weekly updates with applied research manager are scheduled for discussion of projects and planning.

 

Interfaces / Working relationships (Internal to organization and external relationships, even how processes are inter-related)

• Works directly with personal care technical services team, research and development and sales to provide support, presentations and training

   

   

  Level of Autonomy 

• Regular interaction with manager from remote location

• Ability to represent company on new business opportunities to the outside world.
