Your essential responsibilities:

The position will be a member of the ES APAC compliance team which is focused on driving internal control efforts throughout the region.  The incumbent will help set and ensure adherence with Eaton policy, internal control standards, and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).  The compliance team serves as a business partner to the divisions and plant teams.  The incumbent will provide accurate and timely reporting to ES APAC management on control initiatives.

• Work closely with the ES APAC Compliance Manager in the development of risk management strategies and systems, identifying, evaluating significant risk exposures and providing necessary guidance and support to mitigation.

• Provide support, guidance, and answer questions related to key compliance processes, including (but not limited to): Account Reconciliation procedures, DSA process, segregation of duties & access reviews, balance sheet reviews, etc.

• Assist with the 2nd level balance sheet review (BSR) program for the business. Activities include:

  • Monitor the BSR calendar to ensure timely completion of reviews.

  • Track the remediation of control deficiencies and work closely with management to ensure timely resolution of issues.

• Work with the site teams on the remediation of audit gaps (i.e. Internal Audit, SOX, EY, DSA) to ensure issues are closed timely and corrective actions are implemented.

• Perform monthly testing of sales orders to support revenue recognition control requirements.

• Assist with the development and delivery of internal control and compliance trainings.

• Partner with the divisions in the identification and sharing of best practices.

• Assist with the deployment of Corporate and Sector financial policies throughout the business, and support on furmulating ES APAC Accounting and Internal Control policies and procedures as well.

• Support other compliance initiatives, and/or financial process improvements, as required.

• Serve as a guest validator and support SOX internal control validations as required.  Perform on-site and off-site control testing using Wdesk internal control test plans and analytical procedures.

• Other ad-hoc task/project on an as-needed basis.

If you are:

• Bachelors Degree in an accredited institution preferred, Accounting or Finance related preferred

• 5+ years of experience in finance related areas, especially internal control, and/or audit

• Big 4 experience preferred

• Accounting experience within a global manufacturing plant preferred

• Basic understanding of COSO framework and key business processes (INV, OTC, PTP, RTR, etc.)

• Ability to work with all levels of an organization from finance function, as well as other cross-function teams

• Flexibility to anticipate and react to changes

• Strong communication and influencing skills

• Multi-cultural awareness and experience beneficial

• Multi-task handling skills and self-motivated

• Demonstrated problem solving skills including the ability to identify strategic approaches to ensure proactive solutions

• Advanced skills in MS Office particularly MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint

• English and Chinese language fluency required, both oral and written

• Travel up to 30%

• Prefered CIA, CPA or other recognized professional accounting qualification holder
