POSITION SUMMARY:
Purpose
To upload bank statement into SAP, complete regular bank accounting transaction, perform bank reconciliation and follow up any outstanding bank items to ensure timely and accurately book the bank transactions in SAP.
Nature and scope
The job holder is as Bank accounting specialist under Asia Accounting & Transactions Service(ATS) Center and reports directly to Manager of Bank Reconciliation -Asia.
In Asia region, as required by local regulation requirement and business practice, bank team need to manage over 250 bank accounts cross Asia countries which handle daily transaction to support business, The transactions are normally including Accounts Receivable from customer, Accounts Payable to vendor/supplier, bank transfer for working capital and bank interest/charge etc. All bank transaction record in the bank account need to be uploaded into SAP either by electronic bank statement or manually input in terms of hardcopy of bank statement from local bank.
Primary customers are all legal entities in Asia countries including Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, except Japan. The internal customer is to be included GBSS-Accounts Payable, Cash Application team, ATS center, ATS field finance and Treasury.
Preliminary responsibility is to upload bank statement into SAP, complete daily bank accounting & reconciliation transaction across the Asia region to ensure compliance with APCI policy and procedures and adherence to General Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP).
The incumbent also respond to investigate the reconciling items, resolving discrepancies and booking cash transactions to the General Ledger by closely work with Cash Application (Accounts Receivable), Accounts Payable, Inter-company transaction team under Transaction Center, Shared Service Center in North America and Europe as well as Corporate Treasury department and HSBC/local bank in the Asia Countries.
The incumbent also need respond to KPI and eliminate any outstanding bank reconciliation items in his/her respective entities.
A thorough understanding of bank reconciliation processing is required to perform this job. Problem - solving skills, communication skills and the ability to develop new initiatives and implement procedural changes when necessary. The incumbent must keep abreast of any changes implemented by the Center and inform Bank Accounting & Reconciliation area.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.Upload bank statement into SAP, complete regular bank accounting transaction and perform bank reconciliation for all the bank accounts in Asia country on daily basis.
2.Review and analysis the outstanding transaction and liaise with AP, AR, intercompany, treasury & country finance team to book the related transactions.
3.Create and maintain house banking master data.
4.Record basic entries like payroll, power fee, bank charge, etc.
5.Provide bank related supporting documentation to auditors as required.
6.Assist to identify opportunities to improve process to be more standardize and simplify for more effective and efficiency.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1.The incumbent is expected to be at least College Degree in financial Accounting. It is an added advantage if incumbent has an accounting certificate in Finance.
2.Job incumbent is expected to have minimum 3-4 years relevant work experience in financial accounting area, especially in bank accounting or transactional accounting(e.g. Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and treasury transactions)
3.Ability to handle multiple priorities and assess relative importance.
4.Good PC skill and sound communication & interpersonal skills are essential.
5.A good business level of English is required.
6.Working experience with SAP system or Financial Shared Service in multi-national company will be preference.
