POSITION SUMMARY
Purpose
To manage and oversee all of the bank transaction in Asia and lead team to perform bank reconciliation and follow-up any outstanding bank items to ensure timely and accurately book the bank transaction in SAP.
Nature and Scope
The job holder is as manager of Bank Reconciliation under Asia Accounting & Transaction Service (ATS) Center and reports directly to the senior manager of ATS Center. She/he may take the responsibility of Global Process Owner for bank reconciliation team cross the region.
Primary customers are all legal entities in Asia countries including Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Indian except Japan. The internal customer to be included GBSS - Accounts Payable, Cash Application team, ATS Center, ATS field Finance and Treasury.
Primary responsibilities are to lead daily operations on the bank accounting & reconciliation transaction across the Asia region to ensure compliance with APCI policy and procedure and adherence to General Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP).
As one of key manager under Asia Accounting & Transaction Service Center, the incumbent need to review the function performance results against target and KPI, drive to eliminate any outstanding bank reconciliation items within US$ 500M in Asia region.
As bank team's global process owner, the incumbent should define/document the end-to-end process; ensure SOX / work practice compliance where applicable, develop or update Global version of Role Based and Process Training content; execute Continuous Improvement projects, implement metrics & report process performance, solve process issues and share best practices.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Leading Bank Reconciliation team to perform reconciliation for all Air Products Asia bank accounts to the General Ledger on daily basis.
2. Leading team to provide investigation for any unusual reconciling items.
3. Reviewing cash balances during each month-end close to ensure cash is not materially missed on the balance sheet.
4. Lending technical support to the team members, as well as other supervisory-type responsibilities.
5. Liaising with IT US Applications Delivery/Treasury team to make all necessary SAP configuration changes related to bank. accounting (i.e. for opening/closing of bank accounts, new transactions, etc.)
6. To identify the opportunities to improve process to be more standardize and simplify for more effective and efficiency.
7. Establish product delivery and staff productivity measurement tools and metrics.
8. Improve efficiency/effectiveness of reconciliation through the identification, prioritization, planning, and execution of process improvement projects.
9. Develop employees for careers at Air Products through the use of the Performance Enhancement process.
10. Develop/Update bank reconciliation process documentation.
11. Develop/update Global version of Role Based and Process Training content.
12. Maintain global bank share point for KPIs, process, training materials, job aids, etc.
13. Update SOX documentation for bank function.
14. Solve bank related process issues and share best practices.
15. Execute Continuous Improvement projects.
16. Organize global convergence meetings with relative regions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. The incumbent is expected to have Bachelor's Degree in Financial Accounting. It is an added advantage if incumbent has a postgraduate qualification in Accounting or business management.
2. Job Incumbent is expected to have minimum 10 years relevant work experience in financial accounting area and proficiency in Bank accounting, transactional accounting (e.g. Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and treasury transaction) with broad and deep experience build on general accounting and application knowledge. A thorough understanding of Air Products business and systems will be plus.
3. With +5 years experience in managing a team from his/her prior supervisory experience in some related but varied functions; with strong interpersonal and communications skills with a proven ability to identify and influence positive change as well as leadership skills in directing the development of direct reports are also required.
