POSITION SUMMARY

Perform all aspects of inventory management relating to spare parts for the industrial gas, electronics, CSE& Fleet and chemical plant operations, update inventory management systems as necessary.
Evaluate the spare parts requirements, maintenance supplies from plant, and support to get it in time. Maintain MM module in SAP, including material master coding, BOM review and update, MRP process execution.
Work will relate to large Air Separation Plants, Hydrogen Generating/Purification Plants, Gas Generators, Specialty and Cylinder Gas Plants, Gas Pipelines, Electronics, Chemicals Transfill Customer Engineering and Fleet Maintenance.

This position requires a special blend of inventory / purchasing / logistical knowledge plus a high degree of mechanical, instrument and electrical aptitude. Report functionally to David in Korea and Administratively to Manager, GMM Asia

Purpose

Materials Management department which has the overall objective to manage the "hard goods" availability such that there is an optimized balance between the cost of plant/equipment unavailability (plus the associated costs) and capital tied up in inventory. This is achieved by:
? Determine the correct level of spare parts holding for each plant/depot and the location in which they should be held. Purchase and store those spare parts deemed necessary.
? Manage the spare parts inventory to ensure that the required spare parts are available for use in a time frame that meets the business need.
? Manage the volume "hard goods" inventory associated with the customer service activities.
? Provide a 24 hr - 365 days/year point of contact for materials, volume "hard goods", and spares requirements.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Health, Safety, Environment
a. Understand/comply with AP Safety requirements.

2. Plant Support Activities
a. Support plant material requests (Replenishment per MRP or field required) for spare parts throughout the country/region.
b. Coordinate the logistical (including customer clearance, delivery) requirements of moving material
? within the country
? to other Asian countries
? to other continents
c. Perform inventory analysis for parts reordering per MRP, utilize appropriate work process and tools to make inventory level decisions
d. Support the sparing philosophy to have minimal items in
inventory yet maintain high reliability of plant on-stream time
e. Support a regional warehousing plan and execute accordingly. Manage the warehousing work process as it relates to spare parts and maintenance items
f. Work closely with GO, participate in inventory audits and cycle counting and their reconciliation to maintain high IRA
g. Provide on-site support for large plant maintenance turnarounds
h. Maintain bills of material (BOM's) for new equipment in existing plant, and modify BOM's as necessary
i. As repair process owner, work closely with field team on equipment sending back (to manufacturer) maintenance
j. Key coordinator of EAR for new capital spares
k. Review and understand part number changes from local suppliers and update Global numbering system
l. Develop local supplier for parts support


3. Provisioning Activities
a. Key coordinator between local and Asia provisioning team located in Shanghai



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Industrial Experience: 5+ years in associated fields of inventory management, purchasing and logistic
With Plant maintenance background is better
A high mechanical/instrument/electrical aptitude and special technical certification/education in logistics / purchasing is desirable.



Education: BS Degree in mechanical/instrument/electrical / inventory management related preferred, or a Diploma in Engineering.


Special Skills : ? Must be bilingual with very good English skills.
? Experienced communicating with Western culture organizations on a routine basis.
? good communication skill with different local group person
? Familiar with MRP, SAP systems


Travel Required : About 10-30% with majority in Country; occasional trips to other parts of Asia, U.S.A., Europe, other.
