Purpose

The Commercial Manager is the lead sales role for CPS in China. The incumbent interfaces with our customers to sell APCI parts and services that allow the customer to optimally operate their industrial gas facility.

Background

Customer Plant Support (CPS) is a dedicated group in the TGEE organization focused on supplying spare parts, systems, and services to customers who own and operate air separation plants and other industrial gas facilities. The position of Account Manager in the Customer Plant Support group is a direct sales and asset management position with the responsibility of managing various customer account segments.

The position is considered an entry level sales position in TGEE. A candidate with minimal sales experience in ASU's or sales experience in general can be successful in this role as we offer commercial training as part of this position.

Nature of Work

? Customer development
? Account planning for small and medium size customers
? Develop account strategy to bring customer projects to sale
? Asset management including regular customer contact and working with internal APCI performing groups.
? JV interface as APCI selling entity
? Sales proposal generation,
? Pricing
? Internal project approval (OSD, EAR)
? Contract preparation including interface with Legal, Tax, Treasury, Finance and Credit.
? Project business area responsibility
? Invoicing development and account due collection

Qualifications and Experience for Commercial Managers Position

? Ability to communicate and work with external customers
? Ability to work cross functionally inside of APCI
? Excellent written and oral communication skills
? Strong negotiating skills
? Either a strong background in Air Products technology (3 to 5 years in engineering or operations) or a background in sales.
? Basic business understanding of financial terms and methods preferred but not required
? Degree (BA/BS/BEng) with 2 to 5 years experience beyond the CDP program or non degree with 20 plus years APCI experience in engineering or operations.
? Self - motivated, self-starter, ability to work with minimal day to day guidance
