General Description
The Sales and product engineer will support the GM in the daily job interacting with the Product Purchasing office and Engineering teams of OEM’s in the new project developments and consolidation. He will be also a pro-active liaison with the customer needs in terms of product / quality / timing/ sales and after-sales with the related suppliers.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Negotiate price and finalize the contract with the customer. Follow up with customer payment collection and resolve outstanding/disputed payment
- Communicates competitive intelligence and manage competitive bidding
- Marketing survey and assessment
- Seek new sales opportunities for products from various vehicle manufactures
- Co-ordinate quote preparation within various functions such as engineering, finance, manufacturing, PC&L, etc.
- Collect the customer needs (product / targets) and propose the right products
- Promote within the Customers the represented suppliers in order to develop the business
- Correctly reports to the suppliers the customer needs in the preliminary contacts in order to start the potential business promoting the issuing by the customers of RFQ
- Involve in the development the functions (sales / technical office / sales / GM) in the right time
- Pro-actively support the preparation to the RFQ answer in order to meet the customer needs according to suppliers proposal (piece prices, tooling costs and prototype costs)
- As the business is awarded the Sales and Product engineer guaranteed a constant support in the development according the Customer procedures constantly monitoring the status preventing and solving any issues in terms of product change / price adjustment / delay in development / missing information
- Follow all the phases of the product development according to the Customer Procedures (e.g. APQP / PPAP / etc.)
- In case of any issue promptly involve the right persons within supplier in order to guarantee a profitable support and a quick solution giving the right feeling to the customer of the company strength improving the involvement in future RFQ and business.
- Runs benchmarking to improve the knowledge of the market a drive the implementation of new products with the right market price
- In the current production constantly monitor the deliveries (volumes / quality / payments) and promptly react to solve any issue
- Constantly monitor the payment and logistic to guarantee smooth supplies
Major Job Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree or above in Automobile-related major preferred (Powertrain is a plus)
- Being familiar with main car and powertrain manufacturing process
- Several year of experience in technical offers preparation and negotiation in Automotive Business at management or senior level
- Mandarin mother tongue - Fluent in written and oral English
- Full proficiency in MS Office package
- Work experience in an international manufacturing company is preferable
- Self-motivating and proactive approach to daily job
