Overall Description:
A renowned international education group with a strong and expanding presence in China, Hong Kong, and USA, is offering a newly created role in Marketing and Communications. Based in Shanghai, the Head of China Marketing reports directly to the Chief Institutional Development and Marketing Officer and is responsible for formulating marketing and communication strategies in accordance with our business direction and objectives. He/she will also lead, develop, engage and collaborate across teams and functions to ensure all the internal and external marketing and communication related initiatives are focused, integrated, and impactful.
This position oversees our overall markting, communications, and public relations efforts, all aimed at providing adequate support to over 15 schools in China.
Major Responsibilities:
1.Develop and lead markting and communication strategies for all schools.
2.Supervise a medium-size marketing team with key responisibility for creative marketing, school marketing, public relations, brand management and in-house editorial support.
3.Support on-the-ground marketing strategies for all affiliated schools and affiliates of the international school education group to advance the organisation’s internal and external marketing efforts.
4.Work closely with marketing at the corporate and school level to implement corporate marketing initiatives to help raise visibility and improve the admission rate.
5.Initiate marketing and communication related training for school marketing professionals.
6.Improve editorial standards and lead the production of internal and external communication material.
7.Identify and explore innovative online and offline platforms and channels to create impact.
8.Develop and manage the organisation identity and brand including engaged vendors and agencies.
9.Develop and manage external communications and engagement activities for stakeholders, communities and the press.
10.Deliver measurable organic media results across TV, press, social and digital media.
11.Develop and manage crisis and contingency plans.
12.Supervise the team to ensure seamless execution based on the agreed strategy.
13.Collaborate closely with school leadership teams and school marketing fuctions to ensure a clear understanding of and effective implementation of the marketing strategy at the school level.
14.Work closely with CIDMO to ensure the China marketing strategy aligns with the larger marcom priorities for the organisation at large.
15.Develop a rigorous business plan with measurable short to long-term goals and KPIs.
16.Safeguard the overall reputation of the organisation and become a brand evangelist for the institution, affliliated schools and stakeholders.
17.Message development for large-scale marketing and advancement initiatives, campaigns, announcements via all internal and external outlets.
18.Initiate various marketing trend reports and market research reports including daily news clippings.
19.Ensure effective escalation protocols for crisis management and prevention.

1.Contribute to and facilitate any internal and external meetings as required.
2.To carry out any other duties as required by CIDMO.
Competency Requirements:
· Able to translate and articulate complex information into easy-to-understand messages
· Highly adaptable to reprioritise and shift gears quickly
· Excellent people management skills, communication and interpersonal skills, including superior written and spoken communication in both English and Chinese
· Excellent presenter, a strong leader, a proactive marketer with local know-how and the ability to listen
Academic, Job Experience Requirements and Qualifications:
· Degree in Advertising, Media, Journalism, Communications, Business Management or relevant discipline
· Proficiency in Mandarin and English
· 15+ years of experience in marketing and communication
· Strong nation wide marketing experience in a large corporation
· Strategic thinking with an innovative mindset
· Familiarity with the latest communication platforms including digital and social media
