Job Description Overview: Project Sourcing/Purchasing Engineer

I. Mission
The Project Sourcing/Purchasing Engineer reports to the Head of MCT China Project Management & Project Procurement.

II. Tasks description

? Manage Non-disclosure agreement, including signing new NDA or renewal existing NDA.

? File all sourcing, procurement, NDA document, Project contracts.

? Collect supplier visit reports from Project management & Procurement team. Maintain Project Supplier Data base

? Search new potential suppliers per Project and market area request from Business Lines and in collaboration with category sourcing people and according to the defined sourcing process. Based on guidelines given by the Head/project manager or Business Lines, develop RFIs to be used in the identification and qualification of new potential suppliers.

? Based on guidelines given by the Head/project manager or Business Lines, develop RFQs to be used in professional tendering processes, analyze responses to RFQs and finalize selection process.

? Help the Project managers develop procurement plans for his/her project. Select suppliers according to the supplier evaluation and selection process and negotiate agreements in close working with project managers

? Follow up with Vendors on PO execution. Manage/resolve operational issues (delivery and quality) to ensure orders are delivered on time and to specifications. Monitor scheduling, coordinate with relevant department for quality control. Report to project managers and help them solving problems.

? Monitor suppliers’ performance on an on-going basis. Analyze the performance of each vendor. Update the qualified vendor list on regular basis.

? Develop strong network of Metso project suppliers and establish trusted working relationship.

? Collect data/info on raw materials, new regulations on import/export taxes, provide necessary guidelines/reference info/data to Project Team and other Business Lines.

? Provide analyze report on pricing, vendor qualifications, evaluation on regular basis.

? Assist logistics, import/export formalities

? Provide assistance to project managers on project issues as required

? For the Project Sourcing under his/her responsibility and in collaboration with category sourcing people., analyze China supply market structure and dynamics in order to help developing appropriate sourcing strategy for:
? Forging, castings,
? Heavy, medium or light steel fabrications
? Miscellaneous components for Projects
Or other assignment may needed by the Company

Location: Metso Shanghai Office.


IV. Qualifications
? Academic background: Engineering degree, preferably working in Heavy Machinery Industry
? A recognized qualification in project sourcing/procurement would be considered an asset
? Experience: Minimum 5 years of related sourcing/procurement experience or related experience
? Preferable knowledge of mining products
? Good business sense and communication skills
? Team work spirit is a must
? Willing to travel, work hard
? Ready to learn and willing to take more responsibilities
? International experience is an advantage
? Knowledge of SAPs/ERP systems is an advantage
? Language skills: Proficiency in Chinese and English essential.
? PC skills: Proficiency in Excel, Word, Powerpoint
