Roles and Responsibilities
- Ability to craft mid-term learning plans for the company
- Deeply understand our services and the needs of the BU (Business Units) in order to conduct gap analyses on a pre-determined basis with IMPACTIVA’s department leaders to re-design current courses / seminars or create new ones to close discovered gaps
- Provide and execute calendar with seminar schedule to ensure TM’s continuous education in both hard and soft skills
- Create and monitor the metrics to measure the success of all learning activities including those of each student
- Control the quality of learning provided by the Learning Team (trainers) to ensure consistency in delivery
- Mentor and coach all the learning coordinators in the Chennai, India and Dongguan, China offices
- Monitor the success of the “On-the-Job Learning Program” assuring that all coaches are duly trained to be able to assume the responsibilities of the “On-the-Job Learning Program”
- Lead and manage the Content Development Team defining their weekly / monthly goals and verifying that all content developed is world-class (grammar, spelling, step by step structure) and adheres to ISD (Instructional System Design) and CRI (Criterion-Referenced Instruction) methodologies
- Design a system for the speedy / accurate updating of all course content as soon as changes in processes/procedures are approved by the R&D (Research & Development) Team
- Organize tie-ups with factories (footwear, apparel, leather, fabric mills…) to conduct 4+4 learning (4 hours in classroom, 4 hours in factory action learning for new technical hires
- Evaluate LMS (Learning Management System) vendors to choose “best-fit” for IMPACTIVA launching an LMS for internal seminars making the transfer of knowledge more efficient via online learning while focusing the sessions with facilitators on coaching, role playing, exercises, games, etc.
- Use LMS and marketing abilities to offer courses to the industry (clients, trade organizations, etc.) and attract them to attend thus turning the Learning Department into a revenue generating business unit
Required Knowledge, Traits and Skills
Knowledge
- Minimum 15 years in Learning and Development at a major multi-national with a minimum of 5 years as a Leader
- University degree
- Experience providing Learning in a manufacturing and service environment
- Experience in managing course calendar and attendance
- Experience in leading, coaching and managing a team of trainers and monitoring the quality of learning via well-defined KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
- Experience as a teacher providing training including “Train the Trainer”
- Experience in designing and maintaining an LMS by which the content of all technical courses are updated / maintained as processes/procedures are updated in the field
- Experience in training both mid-management and senior executives on a variety of soft skill topics
- Experience in conducting online training programs
