General Summary
Under the direction of the General Manager, Asia Operations, the Product Manager is responsible for product development and sourcing, pricing and developing suppliers, building strategic business relationships, and executing procurement strategies in Asia Pacific.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate product development, packing and label design with suppliers and Corporate Product development team, marketing & sales team.
2. Supplier development and audit, product sourcing, and execute Corporate supply base development strategies.
3. Work closely with supplier for product design, prototype production, components development, and components vendor qualification.
4. Establishes and maintains relationships with the suppliers for product development, capacity growing and long term business cooperation.
5. Develop, manage, and nurture new suppliers and partnerships to accomplish profit and volume goals, including assisting in the negotiation of product costs and contract items.
6. Assist the General Manager in developing product development & sourcing plan, including long and short term plans for each product line.
7. Coordinate product certifications with suppliers, communicate and set-up relationships with key industry associations, trade groups and standards bodies.
8. Follow up with suppliers to ensure negotiated costs are as agreed upon. And work with Quality team to manage on-going quality assurance measurements and goals.
9. Coordinate technical product training for customers and employees. Give technical presentations at Product development meeting and seminars.
10. Monthly and quarterly reports on product development and sourcing.
11. Setup departmental and individual improvement strategies, Goals and Objectives, and engage internal parties to drive for results.
Qualifications & Skills
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related majors.
2. 3 years experiences in refrigerator, cooling or air-conditioning product development preferred.
3. Working experience in the Commercial Appliance sourcing engineer preferred.
4. Excellent electro-mechanical aptitude, and good sense of home appliance design.
5. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional and technical journals in English and Chinese.
6. Excellent in engineering software, Excel, MS-Project and Powerpoint. Ability to write reports, product development plans.
7. Strategic thinking, clear target orientation, good cooperation skills, high sense of responsible and can work independently.
8. Fluent spoken and written English (comparable to CET 6).
9. Excellent organizational, presenting, planning and implementing skills.
10. Ability to travel 30% of the time, and obtain a visa to travel outside of China required.
11. Possess the following personal qualities: integrity, creativity, high standards, commitment, ethical values, and achievement oriented.
