Electronics Engineer

The "Customer Program Applications Team" (CPAT)-Asia facilitates and supports design-in of LUXEON Power LEDs in customer programs and applications. “CPAT-Asia” is looking for a Electronics/PCB engineer who is technical expert for PCB design for manufacturability to support the our Lumileds sales force from initial customer engagements to commercial success.

The Electronics/PCB engineer has a strong and in-depth understanding of designing multilayer FR4 PC boards and MCPCBs for volume production. The candidate needs to understand current state of the art PCB/MCPCB processes and is well versed in state of the art PCB design software.

The candidate has to have the analytical bandwidth to quickly capture the critical success factors of customer requests and is able to translate these into actions to adapt the current concept/ develop new concepts into tailor made solutions. In addition, the candidate should have testing and troubleshooting capabilities on PCBs and is willing to learn optical testing processes as well.

Critical success factors
Must - Familiar with multiple up to date PCB design software, such as Orcad, Altium Designer, Solid Works and Eagle
Must - Familiar with up to date PCB/MCPCB technologies and processes
Must - Familiar with creating schematics
Must – Experience in high power PCB design practices
Must – Experience in highly reliable power system design
Familiarity with international safety and quality regulations
Efficient, cost effective, reliable and high current/voltage design experience
Technical expertise in optics, mechanics and electrics is preferred
Creative thinker
Application oriented, thinking in system solution and “good enough” mentality
Strong communicator
On-site problem solving capability

Profile
? Bachelors or similar degree in a technical field
? 5 years experience as PCB design engineer, preferably in power supplies
? 5 year experience in a technical-commercial environment
? Strong analytical skills
? Proven skill in customer communication
? Experience in consumer business area
? Fluent in English
? Desire and ability to work in a team-environment with a high level of inter-continental interaction (incl. flexible time schedules)

Expected travelling percentage 35%

Musts: Electronics/PCB Engineer: PCB design experience including testing and troubleshooting (> 5 years). Physics, mechanical or electrical engineering background; university or technical school degree. Hands-on mentality. Customer facing practical experience. Fluent in English and Mandarin both written and oral. Design for Manufacturability experience. Power supply pcb design experience. High current and power design experience.
Wants: Knowledge of optical, thermal and/or electrical design; Experience with LED technology.
