General Purpose:
We are now looking for talented SCM & CI Engineer to work in a new team setup in Hangzhou, China.
If you have the budding skills we’re looking for, you will work as a SCM engineer in Multimedia Gateway (MGW) R&D. Your tasks will relate to the Software Configuration Management and Continuous Integration, for instance, control MGW builds and processes, implementation and implement advanced CI systems. You will work in a multi cultural team with engineers located mainly in Hangzhou, China and Oulu, Finland.
Main Responsibility Area:
Software Configuration Management (SCM) and Continuous Integration (CI) engineer is responsible for managing SCM&CI Services in MGW programs, i.e. identifying the configuration of the software, systematically controlling changes, and maintaining the integrity and traceability of the configuration throughout the software lifecycle. SCM Engineer will support and continue to optimize the build process, recognize and repair compile problems, research and recommend new build and deployment technologies.
Job Description:
Work with Engineering, Technical Operations, Quality Assurance and Project Management to define and execute projects that implement build compilation and release of software.
Must be good at working with customers (both locally and remotely) to define project goals and communicate plans and accomplishments to management.
Be responsible for building, releasing, automating and configuring changes into Integration, QA, Staging and Production environments.
Develop an automated, continuous, build process that identifies build errors and notifies appropriate parties to expedite/facilitate synchronization to the latest positive build.
The SCM Engineer will also be responsible for assisting our tools development team to prototype build and release automation tools:
Improve productivity by designing & developing full-featured build systems; implementing tools and scripts that enable efficient, flexible builds (Shell, Ant, Python, Bash).
Create web-based tools (Python, CGI, SQL, Java) for build coordination and real-time access to build and test/defect metrics.
Coordinate system builds activities to ensure each system is documented, including all hardware components, OS versions, and application software versions.
Additional Requirements:
? BSc or MSc in computer science.
? Good communication skills and good team working.
?Fluent English, both in spoken and written form.
?Attention to details.
?Keeping deadline.
?Experience in software development.
?Active and independent problem solver .
?Proactive attitude and can-do attitude is a must.
?Linux environment and system tools knowledge is a plus
?Experience in Software Configuration Management area and Continuous Integration is a plus.
?Scripting languages (bash, Perl, Python etc.) .
?Deep understanding of SVN is a plus.
?Knowledge of or experience using Jenkins/CruiseControl/Hudson is a plus.
