A Project Manager is responsible for the introduction of new and re-engineered products from participation in the quotations phase through to full production of the part.
The following is a more detailed listing of the Project Manager's responsibilities.
CET-6
Coordinate the design, build and try-out of tooling within a given time line for a particular product;
Coordinate the design, build and incorporation of checking fixtures within a given time line for a particular product;
Ensure that established OEE quality,availability and performance standards are chieved at product launch
Where an established OEE or safety standard is not being met, it is the manager's responsibility to provide support in the identification the root cause and assist in taking the appropriate action.
Ensure that standard work and associated tools are completed by Manufacturing for product launch.
Ensure that all OEE and 5S measures are in place at product launch.
Responsible for the development of manufacturing processes associated with new and existing parts within a product line;
Liaise with customers on issue related to product design, feasibility and engineering changes;
Assist in the preparation of quotations as required;
Lend assistance to other departments in their involvement with a given product;
Responsible for some new product design including the required analysis for technical and economic feasibility;
Assist in the preparation and storage of PPAP documentation (Shared with Coordinator).
Ensure that all environmental requirements are identified and addressed when performing duties.
Ensure that all safety requirements are being carried out when performing duties.
Comply with defined Business Management and Environmental Management Systems requirements.
Provide support for the continuous improvement initiatives within Techform.
Provide support in the attainment of Techform's operating system goals as outlined by the key graphs.
Carry out all duties focusing on the goal of internal and external customer satisfaction.
Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or designate.
Ensure all product validation testing requirements are completed per the DVP&R.

Listed below are some of the skill requirements for a Project Manager.
Post secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required;
The ability to create and interpret complex blueprints with an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing is required;
Strong written and verbal communication skills particularly in the area of report writing are required;
Attention to detail is key;
Knowledge of CAD would be a definite asset;
A knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
An individual in this position must be capable of initiating and directing their work with minimum or no supervision.
