Planning

? Read, study, and understand request for proposals, contracts and purchase orders.
? Initiate projects/job setups in accordance with LJU Procedures
? Provides input to and oversees the development of the project scope of work, budget, detailed task/deliverable list, and schedule with input from team members
? Prepare the Project Workplan (delivery, staffing, procurement, safety, quality) to guide the project team in the delivery requirements and strategies to meet performance obligations (performance guarantees, budget and schedule).
? Comply with LJU Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures and guidelines and assure compliance of project team members
? Communicate resource needs and provide forecast updates regularly.
? Work with procurement to develop project sourcing plan.

Execution

? Communicate with client, vendor and contractor personnel to correlate all pertinent information and resolve conflicts.
? Promote behavior based safety in execution of project. Ensure that LJU and client safety rules and training requirements are met.
? Coordinate all engineering, design, procurement, and construction issues with team and lead the resolution of problems.
? Ensure supplier and support service subcontractors (i.e. engineering, construction, other specialty services) develop and adhere to execution plan that supports the needs for the overall project
? Lead routine (weekly; bi-weekly) project meetings with all project team members and stakeholders to review status of all current work in progress.
? Communicate project information with all project team members and stakeholders; maintain good flow of information to all parties
? Respond to client requests in a timely and appropriate manner.
? Ensure that all project meetings and conference calls are documented with written notes in a standard format.
? Develop and maintain action item list.
? Recognize the excellent performance of team members and manage sub-par performance of team members.
? Ensure procurement of any materials, equipment, and/or subcontracts are conducted in accordance
with LJU sourcing guidelines.
? Facilitate and document project close out proceedings.
? Lead and document a “Lessons Learned” meeting at the conclusion of the project.

Control
? Provide general supervision of all team members assigned to the project to ensure accomplishment of the objectives. General supervision is intended to mean the periodic review of the drawings, specifications, calculations and other design documents being produced in the departments and the periodic establishment of the status of the work as to scope, cost and schedule for comparison with the project plan. It also means taking immediate corrective action on all problems discovered by these reviews or that are brought forward by others.
? Conduct Monthly Project Update Meeting to keep Senior Management informed of project status.
? Develop and maintain Level 3 project schedule using either Microsoft Project or Primavera containing the following elements:
o The overall project schedule in accordance with the needs of the Client.
o A schedule of LJU commitments to the Client for the completion of the services being provided on the project. These commitments must be based upon agreements with the various team members, their managers and the stakeholders who will provide the support services. Client activities that affect LJU commitments are to be included on schedule.
o An internal schedule for the project which covers the activities of all team members to the extent needed for adequate control of the project. These schedules may be prepared by the Project Controls lead on behalf of the Project Manager.
? Lead schedule review meetings with all team members and stakeholders, including 3-week look-ahead.
? Issue and maintain a project budget for all costs identified in the project WBS. When changes to the budget occur, the budget should be updated and issued to all team members and stakeholders promptly.
? Issue appropriate weekly, bi-weekly and/or monthly accounting reports to team members and stakeholders as appropriate so they can manage their budgets.
? Control scope with respect to budget and initiate and negotiate Change Orders with client as soon as they are identified and before proceeding with out of scope work.
? Review all work performed by the project team after its execution and before its release to anyone outside of LJU to ensure that the work meets the following criteria:
? The work is complete in accordance with the defined scope of work, the established design criteria and the agreed-upon design concept.
? The work has been coordinated with the other team members and stakeholders.
? Independent Technical Review and verification has been completed.
? The work will meet the requirements of the project and the Client, meets or exceeds LJU standards, complies with the project schedule and cost, and the specific requirements of the Client as to preferences.
? The work has been reviewed and approved in accordance with LJU quality procedures.
? Produce Estimates to Complete (ETC’s) and updates to task/deliverables list on a regular basis (at a minimum, monthly – 1 week prior to close of accounting period).
? Follow LJU accounting procedures with regard to invoicing and collections. Ensure timely invoicing and collection of payment from clients.
? Ensure profitability of projects/maximize LJU profit on projects.
? Maintain contract/project/quality assurance/proposal records in a central project file location.
