Position: Staff Application Engineer

    

Location: Shanghai, China

esponsibility:

    

    

The Staff Application Engineer (AE) interfaces with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Design Engineering with a focus on customer application support in great China area.

    

? Support customer applications by designing, building and testing custom demonstration and reference design circuits to meet customer specifications to support the sales of IDT’s wireless charging products.

    

? Create customer demo boards to develop new business in different markets.

    

? Perform schematics, layout reviews for new customer design wins, and on-site trouble shooting to meet customers’ development schedule.

    

? Write product datasheets with applications section, applications notes, design articles and demo board manuals with all text, graphs and diagrams.

    

? Provide feedbacks for new product ideas to help developing new products, or new derivatives of existing products.

    

    

    

Requirements:

    

Basic qualifications

    

? MSEE with 5+ years experiences in power management applications with at least one of the topologies: Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, Flyback, Half bridge, Full Bridge, Active Power Factor Correction, LLC resonant converter and etc.

    

? Solid theoretical background of power electronics topology, power MOSFETs, small signal modelling and control theory

    

? Be familiar with at least one of the circuit simulation tools, such as Pspice, Simplis and etc.

    

? Be familiar with at least one of mathematical tools, such as MathCAD, Mathematica, MATLAB and etc.

    

?

    

? Good experiences of directing PCB layout of high frequency power management ICs.

    

? Strong lab test and trouble-shooting skills

    

? Strong communications skills and open to travel as necessary.

    

    

Preferred Qualifications

    

? Direct experience with wireless charging (WPC), or Li-ion battery charger IC

    

? Experience in prototype optimization, such as efficiency improvement or power density improvement

    

? Solid background in magnetic component design and simulation, such as inductors and transformers.

    

? Deep understand and direct experience in DC/DC resonant converter design, debugging and optimization.

    

? Familiar with popular charging protocols, such as USB PD, Quick Charging and etc.
