Position Title and Location: Associate - Financial Business and Service

Position Overview

Research Associates in the Financial & Business Services Research practice work directly with clients, managing and executing primary research deliverables. They are responsible for helping to grow the practice, executing on client research requests, and establishing and cultivating relationships with experts across China.

Clients leverage our client's Financial & Business Services Research practice to evaluate opportunities across all sectors in Financial & Business Services Research including Financial Services, Insurance and Business Services.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

? Facilitating educational interactions between members of the expert network and our clients, to enable our clients to make more informed and confident investment decisions. Research Associates are tasked with fulfilling time sensitive research requests by analyzing client requests, and building and qualifying primary populations of topic experts. Most clients - expert interactions consist of telephone consultations but also may consist of surveys, research travel programs, and in-depth engagements.
? Programming live meetings. Client-facing Research Managers are responsible for organizing and hosting small group conversations between our client experts and clients.
? Enhancing our client Councils. Developing relationships with GLG's most respected thought leaders and KOLs in the Financial & Business Services sector, as well as recruiting new senior executives and leading consultants into our client's Councils through research, networking, and direct outreach.
? Growing client relationships. Developing relationships with clients, who are primarily lead investment professionals across Asia and Australia. This relationship development will stem from in-person client meets, project execution, and telephone interactions.
? Team-wide collaboration. Research Associates are expected to work closely with our Sales and Business Development team and other sector-specialized Research Managers to develop customized products for clients.


Required Skills

Favored applicants will have:
? Bachelor's degree or higher from a Top tier undergraduate institution
? Minimum 1 to 2 work experience in multinational firms with related industries, such as financial services, market research, management consulting firm, banking, insurance firm, etc.
? Demonstrated entrepreneurial / leadership skills
? Experience interacting with senior executives
? Native speaker of Mandarin and excellent communication skills in English
