China Controller
Position Summary:
The China Controller will oversee the financial operations of the XX China entity. Responsibilities include maintaining accounts on a US GAAP basis, tax compliance, accounts payable processing and financial reporting. This role is also responsible for managing XX's 3 offices in China and managing an accounting clerk/office administrator in Shenzhen. It is essential that the candidate has hands-on accounting experience, a good understanding of US GAAP accounting, a strong knowledge of Chinese tax compliance and very strong English language skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Percentage of Time Essential Duties and Responsibilities
10% ? Prepare assorted journal entries, accruals and analysis as required to complete the period close and prepare a China P&L statement.
5% ? Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are fully analyzed each month.
5% ? Ensure that proper internal controls exist and are monitored for all financial transactions. Implement and comply with XX Finance Policies.
5% ? Budget preparation for certain China based activities and monthly comparison of actual results vs. plan.
15% ? Oversee accounts payable process. Ensure that all invoices have proper approvals and an PO when required and that vendors are paid on a reasonable basis. Ensure that proper controls are in place for the review of vendor payments.
10% ? Monthly bank account reconciliations. Prepare daily cash position statement and weekly cash forecast for headquarters.
3% ? Oversee administration of company credit cards and concur travel expense reimbursement process.
2% ? Ensure that fixed assets purchases comply with XX policies, book monthly depreciation and retire assets when removed from service.
5% ? Calculate monthly billing allocation split between XX US and XX Switzerland based work performed and transfer pricing guidelines.
5% ? Manage the performance and development of the accounting clerk/office administrator.
5% ? Prepare monthly China VAT return and process VAT refunds.
10% ? Prepare monthly quarterly and annual filing for Business Tax, Corporate Income Tax and other tax activities required to keep the company in tax compliance status.
5% ? Conduct/supervise annual inspection procedures to be compliant with Administrative of Industry and Commerce, Committee of Commerce, State Administration of Foreign Exchange and any other Chinese governmental authorities.
5% ? Office Management Activities include:
Renewal of all the registration certificates in compliance with the regulations for the three offices in China.
Manage XX assets and properties including the assets in the offices.
Maintain the safety and cleanness of the working environment.
Maintain and manage operational service providers such as office supplies, phone, IT, mail, office provider, facilities, transportation, hotels, catering, security, uniform etc.
Provide services to employees on visa, travelling document, and other necessary document that needs to be chopped for business purpose.
Maintain and renewal of the lease agreement with the landlords.
10% ? Perform other business analysis and ad-hoc support as required to the China business.
Specific Job Knowledge :
Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin essential) and English
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detailed knowledge and experience filing Chinese taxes
Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to interface with associates from various departments and levels
Ability to work independently; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
Able to utilize assorted information technologies to perform role including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes and SAP or other comparable large integrated ERP system.
Ability to quickly analyze data/situations and draw relevant conclusions to have positive effects on business in a complex environment; ability to make decisions to achieve desired results.
Ability to make oral and written presentations; ability and confidence to present opinions and thoughts in a clear, unbiased manner.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or comparable business discipline. An MBA degree or CPA/CMA certification is beneficial.
Experience:
A minimum of 4-6 years of public or corporate accounting experience. An understanding of US GAAP accounting. Some managerial experience is beneficial. Global manufacturing experience or experience working for a US or European multi-national is preferred but not required. SAP knowledge/experience or other large ERP system experience.
