Rural Banking

The key functions of Rural Banking (RRB) are to contribute to the organic growth of HSBC in China by formulating and implementing the rural banking strategy; ensure all aspects of the rural banking business are managed robustly to achieve maximum profits commensurate with the best interest of the Group, with a vision to build China’s leading rural bank in chosen customer segments and geographies, delivering sustainable growth and profitability. Through our demonstrated business success, we will contribute to the development of China’s rural economy, institutions and people and act as a role model for other rural financial institutions.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:

-Prioritise the designated areas within the 31 Mainland provinces for establishing rural banks, sub-branches, and sales offices by commissioning research and developing prioritisation models;

-Develop the annual roll out plan of new rural bank outlets and secure management approval for the roll out plan;

-Develop business cases to secure management approval for implementation of approved roll out plan;

-Build relationships with local governments and regulators to attain their endorsement for establishment, and secure relevant subsidies and preferential policies to support business growth;

-Provide general support to the business planning and development function for the Rural Bank;

-Participate in strategic projects as needed.

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

-Bachelor degree or above in business or related disciplines;

-6-8 years relevant working experience in banking industry or consulting firms;

-Familiar with banking regulatory structure, rules and regulations applicable to distribution network development will be a plus;

-Strong research and analytical skills;

-Excellent written and spoken ability in both English and Chinese;

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

-Comfortable with ambiguities and changes and can work under demanding timelines.
