HSBC Global Asset Management, the core investment business of the HSBC Group, and is a leader in emerging markets funds. The business has a worldwide client base of private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. HSBC Global Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting these customers with investment opportunities through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will

• Head of Product is the primary point of accountability for asset management product, providing a single point of escalation for product-related decisions in asset management and responsible for the execution of product development & execution. 
• Development and delivery of the asset management product strategy including product innovation and capability development, in order to achieve specific business targets (AUM, profit, market share growth etc) over time.
• Identifying future product opportunities for asset management.
• Having a commercial and strategic view on all asset management products and mandates.
• Work with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver the product strategy in accordance with agreed time frames.
• Direct the priorities and organization of the product team.
• The practical assessment and implementation of new regulation on asset management product set.
• Qualifications
• To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements
• Strong commercial sensibility with a P&L mindset.
• Strong technical understanding of financial products and investments.
• An understanding of the product delivery environment.
• Strong general management and leadership skills.
• Independent, critical thinker being able to strike a balance between commercials and risks to recommend the “right” decision.
• Credible with internal stakeholders (CIO, product specialists and sales) and external stakeholders (clients, regulators).
• Local regulatory knowledge.
• Fluent English and Mandarin.
• Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning. 
• Ability to clearly articulate business and regulatory implications of analysis and findings.
• Good presentation skills.
• Adaptable and can thrive in a diverse work environment.
• International perspective with the ability to think globally and reflect local sensitivities.
