Global Asset Management

HSBC Global Asset Management, the core investment business of the HSBC Group, and is a leader in emerging markets funds. The business has a worldwide client base of private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. HSBC Global Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting these customers with investment opportunities through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

    

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

• Responsible for the investment teams, investment processes and products for all assets managed in asset management business.
• Responsible for the technical and process leadership of all capabilitues in asset management business. 
• Implementation and monitoring of a disciplined and rigorous investment management process for all products in Asset Management business.
• Ensure the appropriate framework is established to enable the effective review of portfolio performance, performance dispersion and performance attribution.
• Represent the Company at individual client presentations and/or investment conferences as well as participating in new business development.
• Assisting relationship managers and sales people in appropriate cases, to prepare investment performance and outlook reports and presentations for both clients and prospects.
• Participate in Management Committee and other governance forums, contributing ideas and opinions on matters affecting the firm.
• Continually re-assess the operational risk inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management re-structurings and the impact of new technology.
• Ensure that all Desk/Department activities are conducted in compliance with all laws, rules, regulations and procedures, in accordance with best market practice and HSBC/AMG Group policies. In particular, to make sure written practices are in place, revised as necessary to keep them up to date and understood by all employees who are appropriately trained, qualified and approved for the positions that they fill, and kept informed of all relevant changes to applicable rules and regulations.

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements

 

• Deep understanding of China's asset management market, industry and competitor trends
• Signifciant people management & stake holder management experience is required
• A degree qualified with at least 10 years’ experience in financial industry and preferably with at least 5 years in an asset management company.
• Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most senior level in the organization.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Proven leadership skills and ability in leading investment management professionals
• Strong bi-lingual fluent skills in English and Mandarin
