Global Finance aims to provide HSBC with a professional, effective and responsive finance service that operates at optimal cost and employs a common and transparent global model.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will

Global Markets Product Control is a division of Global Banking and Markets Finance responsible for the production and independent validation of Global Markets' profit and loss and balance sheet. Overall, Product Control ensures that accounting policies are correctly and consistently applied and that trading portfolios are appropriately valued.

For this role, he or she will be

Managing and Supervising junior Product Controllers (including providing oversight to offshore Product Controllers) to ensure accurate valuation of GM Rates books, perform daily P&L analysis and review, Fair Value Adjustments, Day 1 P&L, understand variance of trader P&L estimates to actual P&L, P&L attribution, Independent Price Verification, Own Credit Spread and other valuation adjustments.

• Ensuring accurate and efficient controls and accounting for all Rates transactions, in accordance with local and Group requirements, and maintaining a rigorous independent and effective control environment
• Ensuring accuracy of financial and management reporting, including P&L and Balance Sheet commentaries and substantiation. Perform daily oversight of PC nearshoring team, work and communicate closely with offshore staff.
• Attend Valuation Committee meetings to ensure adequate coverage and documentation of all Rates valuation issues.
• Be responsible for the review of new Global Markets Product proposals and new business initiatives for Rates Desk by ensuring that appropriate infrastructure and controls are in place to support any changes in the business.

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements

?University degree preferably in Accounting and Finance with professional Accounting qualifications. Consistent and strong performer with

• A detailed working knowledge of GM products, including bonds, FX, derivatives and structured products.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven capacity to effectively prioritise tasks.
• The ideal candidate would have an accounting qualification with 7+ years of experience in Finance or Global Market areas
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Confident to deal with Global Markets traders and sales people in technical discussions and capable of working under pressure
