JobDescription：

Global Market Management is pursuing abusiness development initiative exploring the commodity mining sector.

One region of particular interest is Chinasince it is the largest producer and consumer of ferrous and non-ferrouscommodities.

The overarching objective of the internshipis to provide a market entry strategy into China’s mining sector forHUBER+SUHNER’s FO-MCI division.

The primary task of the internship is tomap out the business ecosystem of the mining sector in China. This entailsidentification of the main players active in the region: mine operators, EPCs(engineering, procurement and construction companies), integrators, OEMs(original equipment manufacturers), service providers, distributors, andgovernmental bodies (regulators, stakeholders).

Furthermore, the relationship between theseentities is to be understood so that the business logic of the sector,encompassing its supply chain, can be elucidated.

A further task of the new employee is todetermine the requirements that must be met from a regulatory perspective topermit FO-MCI products to be launched into this industry. This includesscouting for and analysis of critical standards and certifications that must bemet by the anticipated product portfolio in order to enter the mining sector inChina.

The new employee will also involvecontacting selected players for interviewing, visits of trade fairs andconventions in order to build deep business intelligence.

 

The new employee also be charged withinvestigating the positioning and offering of competitors in the region. The output of the internship is a written report and presentation to the Headof Market Management located in the firm’s HQ in Switzerland, as well as to theManaging Director North Asia.

The new employee will regularly report inconcise and condensed form to Market Management in Switzerland throughout.

 

Must-have:

Bachelor degree in a relevant field, i.e.business administration, marketing, economics.

Must-be: Fluent in Chinese, both verballyand written.

Good written English skills and ability tocommunicate in English.

Very strong communication skills, outgoingand action-oriented.

Affinity to industrial applications andoptics.

Ideally: Knowledge of, and networked in,the mining and/or heavy industries in China.

Ideally sales/commercial experience.

High degree of autonomy and intrinsicmotivation.

Experienced with working in international,intercultural and cross-functional teams.

Prepared to travel domestically.
