Risk
Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:
-To assist Head of Approval Wholesale Credit Risk WMR HBCN to ensure sound asset quality and a conservative, constructive and competitive credit culture and lending executives are well-trained and equipped with the best possible credit assessment skills and tools.
-To approve or recommend wholesale corporate credit applications in a prudent and timely manner.
-To monitor, maintain and improve asset quality and strengthen the Bank’s lending position by conducting joint visits with business executives and working with post lending management division in the identification and management of potential problem accounts and minimize against B&D provisions.
-To develop and improve the risk management culture and credit standards in Customer Groups/Global Businesses and the migration of best credit practice.
-To keep abreast of the development of sector/industry/regulations and its implications on our lending criteria and risk appetite.
-To maintain an effective working relationship with the Global Business’ lending executives, support functions, Regional Risk and other Regional Risk units.
-To engage regulators and participate in meetings/surveys on behalf of the Risk function.
-To undertake special projects on credit related matters and maintain HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Bank policies and maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring.

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
-Bachelor degree holder, major in Economics, Finance or Accounting is preferred.
-Excellent logical thinking, analytical and interpersonal skills.
-Sophisticated knowledge and experience in corporate credit analysis.
-Able to prioritize workload, work under pressure with good planning and co-ordination skills;
-Proficient in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
