Risk
Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:
- As a Fraud Risk leader to direct and manage fraud risk matters for the Rural Banks business in China.
- In consultation with internal stake-holders, lead the establishment of and manage a fraud risk function commensurate with business needs and requirements.
- Manage fraud risk matters and fraud investigations, supporting growth and profitability, and regulatory compliance of Rural Banks.
- Identify, evaluate potential fraud risks in Rural Banks' products and processes, and recommend effective fraud control measures.
- Act as an expert Fraud Risk Steward to provide advisories on fraud risk matters to Rural Banks businesses and functions.
- Direct and manage investigations into suspicious fraud issues relevant to the rural banks business.
- Investigate into staff Fraud cases to avoid further damage by the suspect staff. Collect evidence of misconduct/criminal behavior to support commensurate disciplinary consequence management.
- Advise the business of appropriate interim actions to prevent further losses. Recommend appropriate recovery action. Assist in the tracing of assets through liaison with Security contacts such as those with other financial institutions, law enforcement agencies, government bodies and specialist service providers.

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above.
- Law enforcement experience in the Police ECID or equivalent at middle to senior level highly preferable.
- Demonstrable, profound relevant experience in fraud risk management and investigations
- Strong financial crime risk management background with at least 8 years of experience at managerial levels.
- Sound knowledge of the China operating environment: regulatory, social, geographic, demographic etc.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across the Bank and to develop rapport with internal and external stake-holders.
- Ability to stay calm and prioritize under time pressure in contingency situations.
- Proficiency in Mandarin and English, spoken and written, a MUST. Fluent Cantonese a definite advantage.
- Good experience in budget and cost management.
- High level of drive and motivation to manage multiple case investigations and other initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent understanding of and experience in implementing operational risk and regulatory compliance frameworks.
