Risk
Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:
Impact on the Business
-Continuous review for appropriateness of framework to monitor regulatory compliance developments impacting on CMB.
-Assisting in implementing of programs to quantify impacts and implement actions to address, manage and mitigate impacts of regulatory changes on CMB.
-Assist in implementing of policies and systems that ensure that CMB’ exposure to regulatory compliance and reputational risks is managed, in a practical and effective manner, including efficient and reasonable deployment of resources and an understanding of the business operations and needs.
-Assist in establishing and implementing of global standards and strategic policies which ensure CMB’s exposure to current risks and emerging arising risk is managed appropriately, in a commercially focused and practical manner
-Works closely with Financial Intelligence Unit and Business Financial Intelligence Units to manage Risk and Compliance matters.
-Reviews and assists in the effective deployment of the Regulatory Compliance Assurance function.
Customers/Stakeholders
-Interaction with Regulators and industry bodies on Regulatory Compliance matters relating to CMB.
-Ensure that the appropriate and relevant risk information is timely provided to CMB management, Risk Management Committee and CMB Risk Committee.
Operational Effectiveness and Control
-To assist in implementing the aligning the CMB operating practices with changes in Global Regulatory Compliance Standards.
-To assist in resolve any/all identified issues promptly, and escalate concerns to management as appropriate to ensure timely awareness of any material concerns.
-To assist in maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.
-To assist in maintain awareness of operational risk within assigned portfolio and minimize the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting.

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
-Bachelor degree or above in finance, law or any related discipline;
-Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in banking/financial industry, preferably gained in compliance area;
-Knowledge of the rules and regulations from China banking regulators;
-Familiar with banking operations and controls as well as products and services;
-Self-motivated, independent with strong analytical abilities and good judgment;
-Good planning, interpersonal and communication skills to work with internal and external parties;
-Proficient in spoken and written English.
