I. Finance Controller- China – Softgel - Position Overview:

This position based in China, is responsible for overseeing the entire financial function of the division. Responsibilities include financial plans and policies, accounting practices and procedures, and the organization's relationship with financial communities both internal and external.

II. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:

The key initial responsibility for this person is to establish a ground up accountancy function. Following that this person will be expected to:

• Direct and manage the accounting function, develop and maintain policies, procedures and budgetary controls.
• Manage the local tax requirement (VAT, tax return…)
• Develop and maintain the SOX process
• Manage the payroll process
• Develop and recommends budget. Authorize expenditures in accordance with budget. Approves budget and expenses of subordinates.
• Compare performance with operating budgets and prior year. Provide reports and interprets the results of operations to all levels of management. This includes the preparation of financial statements and operating data, the coordination of systems and procedures and special reports as required.
• Forecast short-range and long-range working capital to ensure efficient use of Catalent Cash.
• Assure protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing, and ensuring proper insurance coverage.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining product-pricing policies.
• Interact with Catalent and other business units on all levels of finance. Provide other company units with related information required by them to carry out their assigned responsibilities.
• Establish and implement a sound operational and organizational plan in direct support of the business plan.
• Keep the GM, BU President and Global VP Finance informed of the division's performance and provides advice on all financial matters.
• Develop and presents to the GM & BU President, matters requiring his or her decision.
• Execute cash disbursements for payment of corporate and divisional expenditures in accordance with disbursement and policies.
• Participate on key Project Teams as requested.
• Consult with all segments of management responsible for policy or action. Make recommendations for improving the effectiveness of policy or practices.
• Ensure optimum performance of the function. Recommends and implements techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state-of-the-art practices.
• Keep abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise.
• Work in conjunction with Catalent Global HR Operations to provide oversight on HR related matters.
• Comply with and ensure the group's compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned
• Fluent in Chinese & English
