Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Identifying new supply sources
2. Examining the proposed suppliers as to the production capabilities, performing quality system assessments for potential suppliers as well as their ability to attain CSA. UL and / or CE certification for their factory.
3. The potential suppliers financial stability will be assessed and a recommendation will be made to the American company as to which suppliers to bring on board.
4. Work closely and effectively with American's Purchase Dept.
5. Participate as Project Manager in new product start-up efforts; working closely with China QC
6. Help China Quality control when required
Requirements/Qualifications:
·A technical Bachelor of Science degree in either Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Materials Science, and MBA would be an advantage.
·More than 5 years in an electronics manufacturing company providing product for export to North America and / or Europe
·Experience dealing with regulatory agencies for ISO-9000 certification and agencies such as UL, CSA and CE for certifying product for North American and European markets.
·Experience working with suppliers and the ability to evaluate their capabilities for production and ability to meet quality standards.
·Excellent communication skills in English, and Mandarin, both in written and oral. Cantonese would be an advantage.
·The ability to travel as necessary to visit potential suppliers in China and travel to the United States for training and consultation with the company headquarters.
