职位描述
Job Purpose:Lead the development of Affymetrix' market presence and commercial organization within China to accomplish profit and return on investment goals for the region.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the
following :
Other duties may be assigned.
-Direct the development of strategic and yearly business plans for the China Region which are consistent with the established long and short-term goals of the Company; ensuring their proper execution and achievement, regular evaluation of results against performance standards and take appropriate action to correct unsatisfactory conditions that may arise in any phase of the business operation.
-Conduct and maintain business relationships with key accounts, industry and trade associations, government representatives, public service organizations, customers and vendors as necessary in the overall management of the China region. In particular, the GM China will take personal leadership of negotiations at senior level with key accounts and major funding bodies.
-Provide oversight and guide the tactical activities of the business within China including, but not limited to: marketing, sales, technical services, financial, logistical and operational aspects with the objective of achieving delineated P&L goals to maximize growth and profitability for the Company.
-Establish criteria to measure short and long-term growth; direct the development and maintenance of long range operational forecasts regarding volume, market share, financial requirements, human resources needs, and organizational plans. etc., and monitor the projected effects of these forecasts on business unit investment, revenues, and gross profit or other agreed upon measurements.
-Focus on delivery of sales numbers to shape and direct the development of new market opportunities and requirements for existing products and new products for the Region.
-Review and evaluate the total Company performance within the Region on a continuing basis and establish proper measures of performance; counsel staff as to execution of programs, and when necessary, provide direction for modification in work plans or implementation of contingency plans in accordance with prevailing business conditions.
-Champion a clear channel of communication and coordination between local operations that are dotted-line reporting, functional counterparts in the US and other Regions.

JOB REQUIREMENT
Education and Qualifications
-Biological sciences degree with MBA or Ph.D. with minimum 10 years' related professional and technical experience.
?Demonstrable track record to deliver and grow sales globally or within a region.
-Experience in Diagnostics industry will be an added advantage
-Must be fluent in Mandarin, proficiency in English is required
Experience
-Posses an understanding of industry trends and needs, and a track record of contributing to value growth of a business targeting the R&D community within industry and/or academia and experience in China funding bodies.
Other Essential Attributes / Competencies
-Success will require an in-depth understanding of the Life Science Research Industry in China and excellence in all relevant business skills of managing a Region.
-Well rounded experience in all aspect of sales general management functions
-Strong analytical skills to define problems, establish alternatives, and determine the optimal course of action to be taken.
-Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with senior management, management and key contributors.
-Judgment, initiative, and tenacity demonstrated in an environment of rapid change.
-Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate clearly to senior management.
-Excellent planning, co-ordination, and organizational skills.
