Summary:
‘The Trade Compliance Manager will be located in Shanghai, China and will partner with other members of the company and play a leadership role in the strategic development and implementation of company-wide international trade compliance policies and programs. This position will be primarily responsible for Lennox International’s import/export compliance activities in China (currently the Shanghai, Wuxi and Shenzhen regions). This covers all applicable aspects of U.S., PRC and other relevant import and export laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Act and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Customs Regulations and PRC Import and Export Regulations.
This selected candidate will be a member of the Worldwide Supply Chain Organization functionally reporting to the Sr. Manager, Trade Compliance (based in Richardson, TX) and organizationally reporting to the Director of LASEC. Primary responsibilities include:
Responsibilities:
? Managing all aspects of company trade activities in the PRC, including exports, imports and transfers of technology, products, and assistance or services for heating, cooling and refrigeration products manufactured or purchased in China at all of the company’s China facilities.
? Providing strategic development of company-wide compliance policies and programs relating to all trade activity in China. This includes developing and periodically reviewing and updating compliance policies to ensure continuing currency and relevance.
? Participating in audits, internal investigations and the development of resulting corrective actions associated with import/ export compliance enhancement activities and will work with the internal audit and the Global Trade Compliance team in identifying compliance enhancement opportunities and preparing, designing and implementing corrective actions and risk mitigation strategies.
? Assisting in the preparation of factual summaries and whitepapers and will cooperate with team members and various business units to resolve compliance matters, preparing where necessary, needed USG or PRC filings.
? Enhancing the international trade compliance program by driving the implementation of key global policies and procedures, communication strategies, employee training and key compliance-related controls.
? Taking a project leadership role in compliance enhancement initiatives by collaborating with other departments (Engineering, Human Resources, IT, Operations, etc.) and leading cross-functional teams.
? Leading and supporting the development and implementation of standard work, work instructions, and Technology Control plans for all company PRC sites.
? Work with suppliers located in China to ensure all export paperwork meets U.S. Customs requirements and LII policies.
? Ensure the proper Chinese Harmonized Tariff Schedule is assigned to products imported into China.
? Conduct Trade Compliance Training for Chinese employees located in LII locations.
? Work with Chinese Customs to ensure compliance with Chinese regulations and expedited clearances
? Work with LII customs brokers and carriers to ensure paperwork is filed timely with U.S. and Chinese customs.
Requirements:
? Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a compliance, logistics and/ or freight forwarder role in China role.
? Must be able to read and write English
? Experience with SAP is a plus.
? Knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations requirements.
