Responsibilities:

· Perform supplier audits, assessments, and source inspections and is responsible to help Zebra assess if suppliers should be approved, require corrective action (SCAR) or disqualified.

· Improve material quality; ensure proper drawings and requirements are communicated to the supplier and that the supplier has the process capabilities to satisfy the critical-to-function characteristics for the component.

· Update supplier records with results of visits to and from suppliers.

· Develop supplier processes through process, product and/or tooling validations and provide assistance, conduct supplier review meetings and supplier training.

· Use statistical process control and capability studies in assessing supplier processes and capabilities.

· Create Material Inspection Instructions (MII's) to support Receiving Inspection and align the inspections methods between our suppliers and our company

· Provide our suppliers effective feedback and work with them constructively to improve their performance levels.

· Have Supplier Development engineering representation in our improvement teams and contribute to our team's success.

· Conduct internal audits on company processes as required; produce audit reports and drive follow through on required supplier corrective action

· Perform Failure Analysis and inspection techniques on supplier materials as required.

· As the expert for his/her commodity, provide direction and mentoring to help other Engineers, Inspectors, etc. improve performance levels at Zebra and contract manufacturers as required.

· Write and revise policies, procedures and create forms to support our supplier development processes

· Identify, characterize and document all key process variables included in design transfer.

· Compile and evaluate test data to establish material and process specs for new parts used in new products.

· Partner with the new product development engineering teams to provide technology assessment and supplier technical support.

· Conduct DOE's, apply statistical analyses to evaluate results, and prepare technical reports.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Four year Technical Degree plus 5-10 years work experience in target commodity production environment.
• Excellent English and Mandarin skills, speaking and writing.
• Knowledge of common quality metrics & quality control and assurance methods
• Highly skilled employing and teaching continuous improvement techniques (Gage R&R, SPC, DOE) utilizing statistical data analysis tools like Minitab or JMP. 6 Sigma certification a plus.
• Participation in Professional Engineering Societies by Commodity is highly desirable.
• Proficient using 2D/3D product design tools such as AutoCAD or Pro/Engineer
