Position Summary
l Handle complex projects independently and drive the hardware team for continual performance improvement.
l Provide leadership to a team of hardware engineers in the design and testing of electronic control products
l Guide the team towards engineering design methods which yield predictable design cycles and quality products.
Responsibilities
l Lead hardware team and related design activities; build up the core competence of hardware development by planning, trainings, coaching and knowledge transferring.
l Hardware system design, including system architecture, evaluating control solution together with Mechanical concept; key components selection.
l Lead hardware development, including schematic design, layout design and debugging.
l Track/resolve hardware design or production issues, support PCBA production locally;
l Make plans of manpower, budget and schedule for hardware projects.
l Create test specifications and executes design and HW-SW integration tests, to ensure Hardware design quality and reliability can meet product requirement.
l Interact with the team members to ensure other subsystem parts are integrated with the overall system.
l Develop suitable hardware suppliers when necessary.
l New technology learning and team buildup; be responsible for the team's performance review.
l Fully cooperate and coordinate with other members of the project teams.
l Manage overall development activities to ensure products will be cost competitive, meet product specifications and schedule commitments.
l Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
l Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation related, an advanced degree is preferred.
l Minimum 8 years working experience in hardware design and development, at least 3 years R&D project and team management experience.
l Skilled in digital/analog circuit and PCB design, good overview on system level of mechatronics machine, strong experience in industrial control product or mechatronics products is preferred.
l Knowledge of display, touch, DC and step motor driver, common sensor technology and analog signal handling.
l Familiar with hardware system design and production process, has experiences with at least one complete product development.
l Knowledge of standard hardware development processes and methodologies, and have a high commitment to hardware quality.
l Experienced knowledge of EMC design, safety criteria, and CE/VDE/UL related certification.
l Familiar with embedded software system and mechanical part control is an asset.
l Strong capability to troubleshoot and solve problem during design/production phase.
l Good commend of both written and spoken English.
l Good computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
l Good at communicating and coordinating, ability to multi-task and change focus quickly.
l Excellent leadership, strong cooperative spirit in cross functional teams environment.
l Strong passion in product design.
l Strong sense of responsibility, to be a quick learner, innovative, integrity, self-motivated, and result oriented.
