1. POSITION SUMMARY

The Applications Analyst BI role is a key role for Mars IS, and is critical to the delivery and support of applications to the Asia business units, which have a mature, sophisticated and integrated IT landscape.
The Applications Analyst BI will have strong communication skills, and the ability to develop relationships with individuals and teams. Relationships are required with the broader applications team, will work with Mars IS global and local resources, business unit associates, account managers and site teams.
The Applications Analyst BI will be competent in the areas of functional, technical and data analysis, and will liaise with business partners to convert requirements into technology solutions.
The individual will be expected to manage activities and projects. Hence good communication, planning, process and functional management skills are expected. A good understanding of Systems Development Lifecycle methodologies, and support methodologies such as ITIL, is required.
The Applications Analyst BI will be able to support the technology solutions in an efficient and robust manner.

2. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Applications Development and Support
? Work with business user managers and users in aspects of new business process and system implementation within the scope of agreed projects, converting business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
? Complete technical development in the designated technologies and/or manage and assist resources doing the technical development work, in accordance with agreed templates and global standards.
? Execute commissioning activities, including development and execution of test plans, and prepare training material and programs. Provide process training to Functional Experts where applicable.
? From a support perspective, lead the prioritization and resolution of production incidents/problems correctly and on time, implementing long-term solutions to decrease the number of future production incidents.
? Assist Functional Experts in troubleshooting in-depth functional issues, while coaching Functional Experts to assume ownership of day-to-day requests to minimize repetitive technical involvement.
? Work directly with external resources on issue/problem root cause analysis and develop long-term resolutions.
? Manage project plans for smaller projects or on large projects manage the plan for your defined activity set.
? Challenge ways of working to drive increased benefits.
? Actively share knowledge and best practice to peers and stakeholders.
? Specific applications to be supported include, but are not limited to: Business Intelligence technologies, including the delivery of project and CIP activity utilizing QlikView, SAP BW and Oracle data warehouse technologies.

Communication and Business Engagement
? Work and manage activities with Mars IS stakeholders, including global teams, application teams, site teams, contractors and external vendors.
? Communicate issues and problem timing/resolution to Functional Experts and relevant Mars IS stakeholders, including senior managers.

? Ensure that the team goals and objectives are supported, and that personal engagement is managed through the PDP process, and the maintenance of high Gallup scores by actively supporting the engagement process.
Ensure that self and team maintains a focus on Safety in line with the organizational culture and OH&S requirements.

4. QUALIFICATIONS
? Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Business/Management Information Systems preferred.
? General understanding of FMCG business and processes is desired.
? Good verbal, written and presentation communication skills
? A good understanding of business function and process.
? Strong understanding and proficiency in business intelligence technologies such as SAP BW (Query and backend), QlikView, Business Objects, etc. 2~3 years BI related experience is a must.
? Experience as an SAP Business Warehouse Developer using BW Administrator Workbench, SAP Business Explorer and SAP BW Web Application Designer. Microsoft Excel Programming and VBA, HTML and JavaScript, SQL, is a plus but not required.
? Experience building both standard and custom BW solutions including the design of BW InfoCubes, BW ODS Objects, Datamarts, data extraction, transformation and loading into BW from R/3 and other data sources.
? Understanding of Relational Database technology, including SQL and Oracle procedural programming.
? Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail and closure.
? Ability to learn new technical skills quickly.
? Excellent customer orientation with a focus on delivery of value added service.
? Good understanding of software/interface development/support.
? Broad business functional and process understanding.
? Good planning and project management skills.
? Ability to evaluate, analyse and solve complex problems - strong cognitive abilities.
