Background:



The mission of the Information Security team is to provide Mars, Incorporated with a consistent approach to ensure the confidentiality, availability and integrity of Mars Information and IT assets. The team supports the business owners to manage information risk, to prevent security breaches and minimize business disruption due to IT security vulnerabilities.


Position Summary:



The Information Security Analyst position based in Guangzhou China is currently vacant. This role is part of the Asia Pacific security team and will be responsible for analysing and reporting across the Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM) areas, also this role will play an active role in security related projects. This position will report to Asia Pacific Security Manager.



The Asia Pacific Security team is also part of the global security team which is made up of approximately 16 associates (Mars associates and contractors), based in Mars IT hub locations around the globe and offshore resource. The main activities of the team include;



· Support the business in defining and maintaining appropriate IT Security policies and standards

· Audit the Mars IT infrastructure and application environment to ensure compliance with Mars security policies and legal and regulatory requirements

· Partner with Mars Information Service's teams to remove identified security vulnerabilities

· Advise Mars Information Service's application and development teams in designing secure systems.

· Provide security expertise in response to security incidents



Location: Guangzhou, China

Line Manager: AP Security Manager

Travel Required: Approximately 5%



Key Responsibilities:



· Working within the AP security Team assist in expanding the functional capability including Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM ), scanning of Mars network connected devices worldwide and integration of TVM related reporting

· Work with and help manage an external vendor in providing a complete security service to Mars Inc

· Work with various stakeholder groups globally to integrate TVM as core element of business best practice. This includes contact with most functional areas across the business (Site teams, Expert Centres, Factories teams, P&O, Commercial, Project teams etc..)

· Work with these representative groups to understand specific business needs, and assist with integration, alignment and delivery of security best practice.

· Contribute to Information Security team globally by providing input on architecture, standards, procedures and policies.

· Participate in projects (non-security specific) via provision of Security Consultancy engagement.

· Be seen as a change leader from an ISI and Global Security team perspective

· Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the Asia Pacific region (within Mars IS, within the business units and with key external partners)

· Communicate and promote the Information Security strategy and increase security awareness within the region



Relevant experience and skills:



· Experienced in IT Security processes and practices

· Able to interact professionally with diverse groups (internal & external).

· Ability to prioritise tasks and handle emergency situations.

· Strong negotiation skills, friendly and approachable.

· Must demonstrate high integrity & confidentiality.

· Minimum 4 years experience in IT

· Demonstrated analytical skills and proven ability in managing ambiguity, solving problems and managing processes within a complex environment

· Demonstrated strong communication skills working in both native language and English (both written and verbal),

· Strong technology background,




Additional Details:




Highly considered:



· IT Security certified professional (or prepared to undertake).

· Understanding of modern systems security concepts.

· Good understanding of networking concepts, experience in securing computers.

· Familiarity with information security standards

· Understanding of the current IT Security vendors market & their offerings.
