Application Support Engineer
Line Manager: IT Manager
Reporting to: Regional IT applications manager
We are looking for someone to primarily maintain and modify the Moodle software and iSAMS system according to the needs of the school. Applicants for this position must understand and be able to customize, build and maintain data and information systems and software and be competent in handling administrative tasks, including but not limited to:
? User name and password facilitation
? Hold training sessions for teaching and non-teaching staff, as required
? Liaise with school IT helpdesk to ensure all users have the correct access to the systems
? Review system usage and suggest possible improvements to processes in school
? Input site user authentication and course enrollment processes
? Assisting teachers, trainers and other stakeholders to use Moodle: for example, adding learning content to a course, and managing learners
? Assisting users by answering functional questions
? Support Moodle system users.
? Identify database issues and provide timely solutions to the problems
? Assist in the formulation and communication of standards, procedures, and conventions for database use
? Provide database support for priority projects and initiatives
? Assisting Heads of school to prepare the academic functions in iSAMS, including: timetable / cover, new classes / subjects, registration, reporting cycles, house point, parent report, pupil tracking, new academic year rollover, etc.
? Support Admission / Administration departments to utilize the functions in iSAMS, including: enquiry / visit / application / health and safety / EAL / ASA / parent portal / etc.
? Develop the custom SSRS reports according to various requirements from different school departments, from academic area to admission area.

Person Specification
One application named "Moodle" is used to provide e-learning service to students and currently it is mainly managed by teachers themselves, senior leader team hopes to gain more support from ICT team, including technical support and training service to teaching staff, etc.,
iSAMS is the first management information system for schools that’s entirely browser-based. Its clever design creates a single database through a suite of portals, to bring together the whole school community. Perfect for everyone involved with the school – from data administrators and staff, to pupils and parents.
One engineer will be recruited to support both platforms.
Required Qualifications
o Bachelor's degree in a computer science related field and one year of related experience or equivalent related education and experience.
o As a result good writing and spoken English will be essential, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to work using own initiative or as part of a team
o SQL Experience is a must. System configuration, XML coding and SQL scripting.
o Bachelor degree or above
o CET 6 or above
o Experience of working in an IT support environment, previous iSAMS experience is desirable. ITIL qualified would be an advantage. Previous experience of working in an educational environment would be beneficial 举报 分享
