Responsibility:
Leadership:
Responsible for the management of technical operations for the Guangzhou plant with direct responsibility for the plant function while providing technical guidance and support to the Tooling, Production and Plant Engineering
Responsible for the plant process engineering functions and staff.
Training and development of process staff.
Resolve any conflicts between process and other departments.
Liaison between Corporate and Plant Process staff.
Working closely with plant Production, Quality, Tooling, Plant Engineering, Materials departments.
Working closely with Corporate Sales, Product Development, Program Management and Purchasing groups.
Represents the plant at customer/supplier level and is expected to facilitate the resolution of concerns and problems.
Provides leadership and direction to all direct reports by providing training, professional development, coaching and support inorder to resolve problems and improve teammate performance.
Co-ordinate timely and trouble free implementation of new parts/programs into production.
Lead efforts to minimize potential failures.
Track and provide analysis and subsequent improvement plans with respect to COPQ metrics and KPI’s.
Successfully work with sales, tooling, purchasing, product evaluation and plant personnel, customers and suppliers on customers’ expectations and solving potential and ongoing problems.
Technical:
Optimize Chemical Costs through chemical weight usage management, premix chemical trials with Xanathane China,controlled mold release and NRT usage, reduced scrap rate and improved COPQ results.
Co-ordinate and lead the production and evaluation of samples in the Guangzhou plant.
Manage the departmental budgets, setting priorities, developing and training staff.
Support sample submissions (PPAP) to comply with individual customer requirements.
Co-ordinate implementation of engineering changes.
Engagement/WPS/Communication:
Participate in the development & execution of action plans with the Guangzhou Leadership team and provide guidance where required including best practices and procedures.
Ensure internal Plant management foster effective two-way communication on a timely and consistent basis from and to all teammates.
Health, Safety & Environment:
Implement and maintain all requirements for the HS&E Standards assigned to Guangzhou Plant Management Team
Be a constant advocate of responsible management of all health, safety and environmental issues
Understand the health and safety responsibilities of the Guangzhou Management, and teammates within the facility.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Chemical);
2. Five (5) or more years’ experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry, specifically automotive is desirable;
3. Solid understanding of all facets of Technical Management and people managemen;
4. Proven experience working in a multi-national business environment;
5. Ability to provide a high level of problem solving skills within a team environment;
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
