Summary Description of this Position:



The SQL server DBA is responsible for maintaining, supporting, defining and delivering the database solution, from both a discipline and technology standpoint, to support ET operational environment. The SQL Server DBA owns and maintains the data model and physical databases, sets project database direction and provides oversight and checkpoints to enforce data standards and quality of solutions. The SQL Server DBA is responsible for collaborating with ET internal business and technology team members and other stakeholders to ensure the correct technology is in place to deliver timely and accurate information to support ET operations. The SQL Server DBA researches new technologies, tools and methodologies as they emerge that may be applicable to the ET architecture. The SQL Server DBA will lead efforts to define and refine data models, define and refine disciplines, mentor team members on those standards and review all designs to ensure that project teams are meeting expectations for quality and conformity.





Experience Requirement (i.e. 5 yrs.+ DBA):



Bachelor's degree or at least 10 years overall experience in IT applications development or consulting related to IT applications / database development

At least 7 years in technical development and DBA roles on OLTP and / or Data Warehouse projects - with significant experience in the majority of these activities:

· Designing normalized data models for OLTP systems

· Design and Developing with ETL tools

· Designing and developing with Relational Reporting Tools

· Managing or coordinating the time and activities of other people and other groups

Specific software skills:

· ERWin for Data Modeling or similar

· Relational DBMS - SQL Server (preferred)

· Experience with leading ETL tools with a focus on SQL Server Integration Services

· Experience with relational reporting tools (Microsoft SSRS etc.)


Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:



· Demonstrated experience and success managing, planning and administration of database project tasks and dependencies.

· Oversight of design and delivery for Database Foundational solutions

· Ability to facilitate with cross-functional requirement gathering meetings and provide updates on the team status meetings.

· Ability to develop project related documentation

· Ability to develop relationships with internal development and BA team members.

· Demonstrated experience working on strategy projects and evaluating software in the Database space.

· Demonstrated experience implementing DB foundational programs such as Data Security, Metadata, Master Data, Data Quality, etc.
