Background
The Messaging Operations Specialist role in End User Technologies (EUT) provides global operational support for Messaging services and will functionally report to the Messaging Operations Manager.
EUT is part of the Global Infrastructure Service Team (GIST) division and is a globally distributed team. We provide Mars with key end user IT services such as a Standard Desktop (SDS) , Identity Management (Corporate Directory) and Messaging and Collaboration (BPOS, OCS). Throughout 2012, we will build a new infrastructure for mobile device services, including email, calendar and application on iOS and Android platform.
The technical area of responsibility
The responsibilities associated with the role may include some of the following technology:
· Mobile device services (with focus on iOS & Blackberry based solutions, and Android & Windows Phone in future)
· Microsoft BPOS solution (Exchange and Outlook, Livemeeting, OCS, Sharepoint)
· Binary Tree solution for Lotus Notes and Microsoft coexistence
· Faxing solutions (Zetafax / Mailfax /SAP MTAs)
Key Accountabilities
· Tier 3 Operational support and supervise operational excellence targets
· Metrics and Reporting
· Knowledge management
· Vendor management
· Problem management and Continuous Improvement Projects management
· Change and Configuration Management
· Special roles (e.g. Change lead, CIP PMO lead, Security Liaison, PM lead)
· Manage/participate in operational take on process for new services in the area
Person Profile
· At least 3 years experience working in an infrastructure support role, leading technical areas or running projects. The role requires fair technical, good support, good analytical, strong interpersonal and organisational skills
· Strong local and English language skills both verbal and written
· Experience of managing relationships with off-shore partners / service contracts would be ideal and some commercial knowledge
· Able to troubleshoot complex problems, and to quickly pick up and handle new technology, architectures and concepts
· Good self-management: well-organised, good time and task planning, good workload management, reliable at meeting deadlines
· Good interpersonal skills: including an ability to work well with people from different cultures and companies
Technical Experience
· Broad experience in managing infrastructure technologies, ideally with a background in Microsoft technologies or external providers
· Should understand Active Directory how it's used in the provisioning of Microsoft services
· Good understanding in Apple and Android mobile platform and concept of Mobile device management
· Experience of BlackBerry, Exchange / Outlook, OCS and Windows Live Meeting (Binary Tree solution experience is a plus),
· E-mail based Faxing solutions (Zetafax / Mailfax /SAP MTAs)
· Knowledge of the ITIL and ITSM concepts (how to measure and manage infrastructure services through effective set of metrics, processes and procedures)

Special considerations
This job may require some travel, especially during the first year and will have regular conference calls, often outside of normal office hours. These may compensated by flexible working schedules.
