- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries regarding Affymetrix Instrumentation
- Foster customer satisfaction by providing professional, timely and effective expert technical service and support for the Affymetrix customer base that is in-line with warranty or support agreement features
- Provide remote or onsite troubleshooting of complex performance-related software and hardware issues for various instruments and ensure instrumentation is functioning to design specifications
- Review communications and procedures pertaining to Field Service to keep up-to-date and informed; providing feedback and constructive criticism as needed
- Provide customer base with formal start-up training at time of install; includes introducing software, operating instrumentation, troubleshooting system issues, and reviewing maintenance procedures
- Maintain a fluid work schedule to accommodate the unpredictable nature of customer needs and expectations
- Establish and maintain records of service duties on required reports, and submit in the stated time frame
- Partner with sales and marketing, QA/QC, research, and development to address customer concerns, determine corrective action, and customer follow-up
- Maintain spare part inventory, tools, manuals, and test equipment
- Report design, reliability, and maintenance problems to appropriate internal department for review
- Establish and maintain records of service duties on required reports, and submit in the stated time frame
- Assist in the development and training of new hire FSE’s and distributor FSE’s on the instrument platforms
- Represent the Field Service Organization on APL core teams and on Sustaining teams for instrumentation
- Maintain the Technical Support website where the latest version of procedures, TAC’s, spare parts lists and diagrams can be found
- Provide technical support to peers within the global Field Service team, including distributors
- Verify or validate new procedures, providing feedback to internal groups as needed
- Participates in process and operation improvement opportunities
- Responds to internal and external inquiries
- Complies with company quality management systems, policies and procedures
- Provides mentorship if applicable
- Additional duties/responsibilities according to business needs
Requirements
-Bachelor degree with at least 3 year related experience
- Result oriented, good team work spirit
- Driver lience is a preference
- Home office, be willing to take 60% travel within the specified territory
