Job Title: Product Manager
Department: Marketing

Mission:


To bring Product Management expertise, principally centred on overall product responsibility (conception, design, market position, profitability) and support the business to achieve sales, manufacturing and financial targets.

Develop products through the Apollo NPD process and facilitate communications between manufacturing, engineering, quality and the sales team.

To develop and maintain market strategies for the product ranges in Asia Pac region with a focus on customer expectations and needs as well as business requirements.

To assist with the launch activities of new or upgraded products and range extensions.

Key Responsibilities Comments:

To create and implement business strategies for products and the Asia Pac market to secure long term profitable growth and the achievement of revenue and profit targets – specifically focusing on product ranges and geographical market needs.

Fully engage in regional business strategy deployment. Clearly understand the market requirements for specified region and create comprehensive market and product plans. Visit customers and build a complete picture of their plans, needs and strategies for growth.

Set strategic aims for product developments within your responsible regions.

Set revenue targets and profit margins, whilst ensuring cost base targets are not exceeded.


Develop, coordinate and communicate product roadmaps, product strategy, and implementation plans.

As the Product Manager take responsibility for the agreed product category – (to be agreed as part of the Objectives) and assist in coordinating between R&D/product development, manufacturing, assembly, sales, marketing, purchasing, finance and other functional departments of the company.

Project Lead any new product developments fitting within the responsible ranges. Organise, minute and follow up on actions.

Ensure a clear understanding of P&L and margin for your relevant product ranges and manage accordingly to increase profitability and growth.

Work with Product Management to create reports and product plans for the future.

Obtain market pricing and positioning information to ensure and maintain competitiveness for the agreed product ranges.

Work with available market research material and sales managers input to define appropriate pricing strategy by product and market.

Conduct product rationalisation reviews and manage appropriate projects to provide full product lifecycle management.


Work in accordance with the obsolescence procedure ensuring accurate and timely completion.

Support external vendor communications/relations as it pertains to specific projects including travelling abroad as needed.


Help find and cultivate appropriate partnerships that can best serve our needs.

Work to establish alternate/redundant suppliers and facilitate price comparison.

Help construct and follow product line Launch Calendar and activities required from the Marcomms team to ensure timely product introduction and delivery.

Participate and lead discussions and actions in the steering meetings and follow up on activates required to enable on time product launch.

Develop or assist in developing marketing material, strategies and tools to support the selling effort

Ensure appropriateness of the material to the respective product.

Assist in annual pricing reviews and continuous margin analysis.



Support the Exhibition Programme with recommendations of product demonstration and objectives.

To provide support for the delivery of Apollo Exhibitions and contribute to the planning for the shows.

Recommend and document new product opportunities.

Review, justify and quantify all the new product ideas.

  • Knowledge of fire product industry desirable.
  • Previous marketing experience desirable.
