About the Role
The role of IT Programme Manager has the overall responsibility for the end to end delivery of one or more business technology programmes on behalf of the IT Director and the Directors of the functional area(s) to which they are allocated.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include;
? Supports the Head of IT with the creation and management of the programme portfolio.
? Responsible for working with the Director(s) of the functional areas allocated, to set and agree the programme content to meet the functional and corporate strategic requirements.
? Overall responsibility for the leadership, planning and delivery of allocated business technology programmes.
? Responsible for ensuring all project/programme activity for their allocated functional areas are approved, visible, managed and monitored in line with enterprise level standard and policies.
? Responsible for identifying, and negotiating the provision of, all required resources to support delivery of the allocated programmes.
? Responsible for the day to day business relationship linkage between the business units and IT for solutions pending on the roadmap and solutions in the process of being delivered.
? Communicates with Global teams to ensure best practices are shared and all technology actions in China offices are align with Global teams from policy and regulation perspective.
? Communicates decisions, priorities and relevant programme/project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding allocated programmes.
? Jointly responsible, with the programme sponsor, for the realisation of benefits relating the programmes for they have responsibility.
Dimensions of role;
? Multiple 3rd party suppliers, including offshore.
? Communicates openly, capable of technical and business/commercial conversations
? Constructively challenges stakeholders and team members
? Drives and delivers programmes with pace
? Motivating and supporting team leader
? Deals comfortably with complexity and ambiguity
Desired Skills and Experience
? Strong project management background in a complex, fast moving environment (minimum).
? Experience of project/programme delivery under a recognised formal methodology (minimum)
? Strong people management skills and experience.
? Excellent personal and communication skills with an ability to work across all areas of the business and build relationships at different levels up to and including Director.
? Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills.
? People person with good coaching and mentoring skills.
? Completer/ finisher with a real desire to drive to programmes to successful conclusion.
? Experienced negotiator and influencer.
? Demonstrable experience of managing matrix teams (minimum).
? Demonstrable experience of managing matrix teams across multiple locations, including International (preferred)
? Educated to Degree level or equivalent
? Certification under a recognised formal methodology (preferred).
