RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

1 Responsible in the operation and maintenance of R&D equipment, instruments and accessories.
2 Responsible for the general housekeeping and maintaining proper conditions of the pilot laboratory, pilot plant, laboratories and pilot plant office.
3 Conduct laboratory-scale, pilot-scale trials, evaluation and monitoring studies under the instruction of technical services managers, product development managers, packaging managers and other scientists.
4 Provides assistance in the preparation of requirements and in the conduct of Plant Trials runs by Product Development Managers, Packaging managers, Technical services managers and other scientists.
5 Administer the inventory management of R&D materials, products and supplies at R&D warehouse and at storage areas including all the stability samples at the Stability Rooms.
6 Provide technical assistance in data gathering and data management upon the instruction of R&D personnel.
7 Performs record keeping of all activities in R&D laboratories, pilot lab, pilot plants, warehouses and storage rooms

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1) Responsible for the general housekeeping and maintaining the laboratory and Pilot Plant facilities
2) Manage systematically the operating supplies including laboratory consumables, chemicals, lab uniforms and PPEs, lab wares, etc. ensuring its availability when needed
3) Shall perform and record daily set-up, simple calibration and maintenance activities of Pilot Plant and Laboratory equipment
4) Shall provide assistance to Product Development Managers, Technical Services Managers, Packaging Manager and other scientists in the conduct of Laboratory-scale, Pilot-scale and Plant Trials runs
5) Operate R&D equipment, instruments and utilities according to SOPs upon the supervision or instruction of his immediate superior or Product Developers
6) Perform the necessary in-process testing and checking and record process parameters/test results ensuring all pertinent data are captured and documented.
7) Assist in troubleshooting and in investigation of quality related issues and participate in small group activities in process optimization and improvement of Pilot Plant systems.
8) Collect all the necessary test samples including the stability samples produced in Pilot and Plant trial runs and submit samples to the designated laboratory as per PDs designed stability study.
9) Performs requisition and withdrawal of materials for use in the technology center with the approval of immediate manager
10) Manage the inventory management of raw and packaging materials at R&D Warehouse and the finished product samples at its stability chambers/rooms including its timely checking and/or submission of test samples to designated to laboratories.
11) Conduct and record simple physical tests on R&D samples per instructions provided.
12) Performs labeling and tracking of materials, products, and supplies, collect test results and logsheets, maintain records of test results.
13) Prepares samples and documentations for shipment of samples to other R&D sites.
14) Monitor storage chamber, stability rooms and warehouse conditions and maintain always its cleanliness/orderliness.
15) Seek assistance with Engineering support group during malfunctioning of equipment and/or periodic maintenance of Pilot Plant equipment and facilities including AHU and other utilities.
16) Provide assistance to engineers and scientists in the receipt, installation and qualification of new R&D equipment and instruments including all related documentations.
17) Update SOPs and Work Instructions, Guidelines, prepare technical report other documentations upon the instructions of immediate manager.

REQUIREMENTS

Educational Attainment Requirement:

B.S. in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Technology/Food Science, or any other Food or Engineering related course.

Professional background

1 At least 3 years' experience in food/pharmaceutical/beverage manufacturing industry in R&D, QA or production functions.
2 Preferably with at least 2 year experience in R&D pilot plant operations operating key process technologies and conducting evaluation studies.
3 Experience in operation of R&D or small scale food processing equipment such as spray drying, liquid process, CIP skids.
4 Experience in handling multiple projects at one time.
5 Experience working in the Dairy Industry is an advantage.
