Job description
This individual is to manage the day-to-day operations of the plant and drive site Safety, Lean Six Sigma programs and other corporate Operation Excellence initiatives. Oversee NPI and other product transfer projects.
1. Responsible for manufacturing costs, processes and methods implementation to meet product specifications and customer's expectations. Provide and manage local employees training to ensure welding, assembly, and testing are performed properly on the line. Work closely with functional managers to ensure transfer of knowledge and completion of assignments.
2. Provide leadership, direction and assume ownership of assignments to meet profit ability, quality, cost reduction and continuous improvement goals. Apply problem-solving techniques and effective guidance to support and motivate employees to meet company, departmental and employee's personal goals.
3. Work jointly with product development team and stakeholders on NPI projects and ensure that processess are followed. Manage and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to meet project objectives and timeline.
4. Product quality and reliability targets are metfor both existing and new products.
5. Establish effective and timely communications with employees to meet voice of customer and product requirements. Work proactively with other departments and functions to drive business and operations excellence. Work within established company policies, plans and procedures. Train, coach and develop employees as required. Ensure full legal compliance in all activities.
6. Develop and foster a team environment of continuous improvement and learning. Develop and help employees gain good understanding in changing business needs, customer expectations, market dynamism. Provide leadership and direction in creating a work environment that promotes positive influence on employee attitudes, values and morale. Provide and sustain a work environment that encourages continuous improvement, self-development and learning.
7. Establish proper budget, S&OP forecast and business unit operational plan that meet company's cost, inventory control and delivery targets.
8. Maintain effective two-way communication with management including human resource or other employee relations issues.
9. Ensure that site safety plan and targets are met.
Requirements
1. Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering.
2. Lean manufacturing and Six-sigma trained, Black belt preferred
3. The individual should have minimum 10 years of MNC manufacturing experience of which 5 years in management role.
4. Prior experience in metrics management to drive operational performance is a must. Sheet metal manufacturing experience preferred.
5. Strong leadership, adaptable to working environment and Company culture, customer and supplier focus
6. Good written and oral skills in both Chinese and English
7. Good communication with all level of staff and with integration skills
8. Have the passion for excellence, high ethical standard, positive and continuous learning attitude.
9. Strong project planning, management and execution skills
10. Must be computer literate; Word, Excel, Power point etc.
