Accountability
The Material and Component Responsible is accountable to:
? Source & develop materials independently
? Work with material & component suppliers to achieve the best price, lead time and capacity deal
? Guide material & component suppliers in problem solving
Main Responsibilities

Material and component sourcing and development
? Conduct material & components’ price, quality, capacity and lead time negotiation
? Support the material & component supply chain problem solving for Countries
? Support the print strike off development together with supply chain for Countries
? Handle material & component sourcing and development for top/running programmes
? Handle material & component projects
? Collect copyright / exclusive agreement for all Countries
? Support quick lab-dip and dye lot approval
? Manage material & component booking/house booking
? Co-ordinate sample material yardage & components for Countries
? Support other teams’ knowledge on material and components and provide useful guidance / workshop for new members
Cooperation with other teams
? Closely communicate with Merchandising and Research & Development teams in Production teams as well as other off-shore Countries
? Work closely with material and component suppliers to maintain healthy business relationships
Education and Experience requirements
? Minimum of 5 years’ working experience in the apparel industry
? Material & components’ research & development experience is preferred
? Bachelor’s degree in Textiles or Fashion-related studies
Knowledge and Skill requirements
? Excellent in written and spoken English
? Familiar with using Microsoft office applications, e.g. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
? Knowledge of textiles, materials & components
