Job Purposes:
The Retail Services manager provides leadership and strategic direction for all Retail Services initiatives across China. This person is responsible for the planning, management and co-ordination of people, vendors and resources to execute programs for field labor, visual merchandising, outlet coverage, training and digital marketing across the Windows, Office, HW, surface and other categories.
Reporting Line: This role will report to China country channel marketing lead.
Responsibility/Activity:
1. People Management:
a) Management of Retail Services including field labor, training, visual merchandising and channel platform.
b) Planning of people and resources against all program activities to support campaigns.
2. Execution Excellence:
a) Drive team sales operation and business rhythm
b) Establish the sounded processes to ensure a flawless execution and good ROI.
c) Over-all ownership and accountability for on-time execution for all of the Retail Services team’s initiatives in line with new product launches, seasonal & promotional campaigns:
1) Oversee calendars & timelines, ensuring all key dates are included and managed.
2) Monitor execution project plans, schedule and deliverables.
3) Document, communicate and administer key retail execution project processes.
4) Facilitate effective meetings involving representatives from multiple groups.
5) Serve as a key link between category and channel management, sales, finance and vendors.
6) Deliver end-to-end communication for all retail programs including project plan, ongoing project status, post-mortem review and data analysis/reporting ensuring Retail Services is exceeding internal and external customer expectations.
7) Ensure innovation and flexibility to synchronize with changing retail landscape.
8) Analyze trends and provide recommendations for improvement to existing programs and service offerings.
9) ROI/Metrics - measurement and analysis of performance of programs.
3. Agency/Vendor Management:
a) Oversee the management of several vendors in relation to field force, visual merchandising, training, field deployment and warehousing.
b) Develop and maintain relationships with retailers, as necessary.
c) Retail Services Expert and Business Insight:
d) Provide the team regular financial reporting and business insight
e) Analyze trends and provide recommendations for improvement to existing programs and service offerings:
f) Evangelize the team’s strategy and key deliverables to the category teams, Sales, Senior Leadership and externally with retail partners.
g) Provide feedback to the retail team & other stakeholders on project status, resourcing and support required and issues that are negatively impacting productivity.
4. Retail Services Expert and Business Insight:
a) Provide feedback to Region and Corp - what works/what doesn’t with the aim of influencing future guidance from Corp.
b) Have a strong understanding of the retail marketplace, number of outlets and geographic locations of customers.
c) Have a strong understanding of all marketing activities for Microsoft products (demand generation, consumer activities, PR etc.).
Experiences Required: key experiences, skills and knowledge:
- 8-10 years experience in developing and driving partner and/or customer marketing (including focus on digital) strategy and execution.
- Be able to effectively drive cross-group communication and cooperation, using strong communication, project management, and organizational skills
- Retailer, Consumer marketing or sales background or proven knowledge of consumer selling channels
- Possess a personal passion for marketing, customer relationship marketing, technology, partners and satisfaction.

- Management experience
- Negotiation and influencing skills that gain successful outcomes for both the partner and Microsoft
- Excellent organization skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
- Strong team oriented individual.
- Being a self-starter.
- Ability to remain productive and focused in a fast paced, evolving and ambiguous environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft strategy and relative strength of our products within a given category.
