Role Summary/Purpose

•Planning and monitoring of NPI activities
•Interface between Avio Aero engineering organization and airframer (CHRDI)
•Interface between Avio Aero engineering and HADAT leadership team
•Support procurement and preparation of test articles according to build reports and instrumentation requirements•Coordinate and supervise all the validation and certification test activities including component tests, power rig tests, iron bird tests and flight tests. Perform pre/post test

Essential Responsibilities

The Lead Technlolgy Project Engineer develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role you will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope, utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
· Lead technical teams in project related work including engineering and/or manufacturing activities
· Act as the primary customer liaison related to project matters
· Assist the project team in defining the project scope of work
· Prepare a detailed schedule for a complex engineering and/or manufacturing development work scope
· Assist in developing the project approach and lead the approach in the project schedule and perform schedule analysis
· Ensure resource / facility estimates are integrated with the project schedule
· Perform labor / facility supply and demand analysis
· Interface with the functional team leadership
· Work with Finance to ensure that project actual cost information is gathered and disseminated; project billings are submitted to the customer and paid
· Ensure that relevant cost, schedule, and technical performance metrics are instituted at all levels in the project
· Coordinate gathering and reporting of programmatic information to customer
· Assist the project team in assessing the scope, schedule and cost and risk impacts of internal and customer-initiated changes
· Assist in the preparation, submission and negotiation of change of scope proposals and incorporate approved/negotiated changes into the project’s planning database
· Interact with other functions in GE to evaluate and complete projects

Qualifications/Requirements

• Mechanical or aerospace engineering degree
• Fluent in English and Chinese languages
• Excellent communication skills
• 5 years minimum experience in aerospace industry in an engineering role
• System engineering skills (planning, leading technical teams,..)
• Mechanical components design experience, preferably transmission systems, gears, housings
• Testing experience of mechanical systems
• General knowledge of helicopter performance and operations
• Knowledge of certification process/rules of an aerospace product

Desired Characteristics

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
· Ability to read contracts, Statements of Work and Customer Specifications relevant to project operational planning and control
· Knowledge of all project phases from pre-tender to support
· Familiarity with engineering and manufacturing processes and a technical background that provides value added customer interface
· Knowledge of planning and analysis tools for project management
· Strong computer skills including Primavera (P3), ProE, Project Management software and database software
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to balance multiple priorities
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
· Ability to interact with customers successfully
