Primary Responsibilities

• Use extensive Process Engineering experience to identify risk to product and business and evaluate potential impact/benefit to business of process improvement initiatives Co-ordinate implementation of Process Improvement Initiatives.
• Reduce food safety risk and prevent product recall via throughout utilization of in line product inspection and testing technologies.
• Production of status reports, highlighting progress against agreed timelines and undertaking resolution of corrective actions.
• Application of technical knowledge and QA discipline to develop new Process Improvement techniques.
• Assist the QA manager with approval of Capital ,and factory acceptance testing of equipment for a quality related requirements ( Cleaning, hygienic design, and process capability)
• Contribute to annual target in direct saving in materials , labour, utilities and cost of goods via identifying areas of loss, risk, and waste and by rectifying them.

Knowledge, Professional Experience and Preferred Requirements

· Degree or equivalent, ideally in Chemical Engineering or science related discipline.

• Highly proficient project management skills and ability to manage changing project deadlines and priorities with ease. Six Sigma Black Belt qualifications would be an advantage.

· Task focused with strong organisational and planning skills

· Effective at building and maintaining internal and external relationships

• Strong understanding of key Business Units’ processes and systems (e.g. Quality, Operations and Finance).
• Highly experienced in the application of detailed analytical techniques to identify root causes of issues and effectively resolve them
• Significant industrial experience preferably within a FMCG environment
• Organization, interpretation and analysis of commercial, technical and process information to assist development and implementation of Process Improvement initiatives.
• Ability to lead, guide and motivate teams or groups, encouraging and utilising tasks of each member to achieve greater business benefit.

· Balances focus on tasks with attention to building and maintaining cross-functional and external relationships. Ability to understand microbiological and food science issues

· The job holder must have innovative skills, especially the ability to identify and “sell” opportunities for the future benefit of the business

· Job holder must have the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management within the company and externally, with suppliers and “Centres of Excellence”, to ensure the efficient management of all projects.

· Must be practically competent with pilot scale processing equipment

· Ability to perform under pressure and/or opposition while maintaining composure and objectivity.

· Good understanding of cultures in China; Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese is a must.

· Uncompromising integrity

· Strong IT skills in Microsoft Office and mini tab is assumed
